    Default Finley

Word is that the Mavs will buyout the remainder of his contract (new implication of the CBA) and avoid the luxury tax penalty on that contract.

He cannot be resigned by the Mavs for the remaining length of the contract.

Anyone have any interest in him. I think he would be a good pickup if he could come cheap. We need a veteran guard in our backcourt.

Do they have the money for that? Maybe if they got rid of Martin and received a smaller contract in return.

Maybe Sacramento might make a push for him aswell IF Mobley opts out. Haven't looked at there salary situation yet though (I'm in a lazy mood, sorry ).

I do believe that Denver could have up to $9 million to spend on free agency. If they don't push hard for Finley, then Sacramento could also look at him. Maybe Seattle will let Gay Allen go and take Finley, or possibly Cleveland will go after Finley. Or maybe Atlanta or New Orleans.

You have to figure that Finley will take the Vet minimum from wherever he goes. Reason is that he will get his 15M no matter what and would rather make Dallas pay for as much as possible. (the more another team pays Finley, the less Dallas has to pay...so he will get 15M (or whatever his contract number is) no matter who is paying it). I would think he would stick it to Dallas for Waiving him.

That being said he could go do any team he wants. What team wouldn't take Finley for the vet minimum for 3 years??????? Pacers do make a good spot for him with a "open SG spot" with Reggie leaving, but there are alot of teams that would be interesting to him. Go to Houston playing with T-mac and Yao? How about Detroit for that matter (though I think A. Houston will be heading there - same situation with the Knicks).

Go to LA to play with Kobe maybe? or Minnesota with KG......alot of possibilies.

I think he'd definitely go to Denver. He'd still want to start. Man, they'd look great on paper.

Miller, Finley, Carmelo, K-Mart, Camby starting

    with

Boykins, Nene, Lenard, Najera, (maybe Francisco Garcia), off the bench.

Things would look berry, berry good for the Nuggets.

If he comes here, he have a chance of competing for a starting spot, I mean, no body is sure who's locked in to that SG spot, because Jax is as consistant as Michael Jackson's nose.
