Seemed like a good guy, but there was no real need for him on the roster with T.J. Leaf as the team's stretch 4.

Just not nearly enough athletic ability. Also what a waste of a year for him. I mean other than money of course. How many games did he play in Ft Wayne? It couldn't have been more than 10-15 could it? No playing time here and very limited time there, we didn't really do him any favors other than pay him.

Our only decent 2nd rounders in the last 30 years are Lance, James Jones, and Antonio Davis. We might as well trade the picks every year.
Damon Bailey brought a huge round of applause from the crowd at the only draft held in Indy. About as successful as you can hope for a second rounder--moderate fan enthusiasm.

This was only after the Pacers caused a damn near riot by passing him over with their first second round pick. People in front of us literally set their programs on fire when the Pacers chose William Njoku

I enjoyed watching him play for the Mad Ants. He couldn't hit his 3s but kept trying. As an inside scorer he was great. Here are his stats, only 6 games. But he averaged 19 points and 7.2 rebounds. 3.3 assists. He definitely knows how to play.

In 3 playoff games he averaged 15.3 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 5.0 assists.

I'm confused by the '14' roster count. Here's what the Pacers' site says:

    1. Ike Anigbogu
    2. Bojan Bogdanovic
    3. Darren Collison
    4. Al Jefferson
    5. Cory Joseph
    6. T.J. Leaf
    7. Victor Oladipo
    8. Glenn Robinson III
    9. Domantas Sabonis
    10. Kevin Seraphin
    11. Lance Stephenson
    12. Edmond Sumner
    13. Myles Turner
    14. Joe Young
    15. Thaddeus Young

Is one of these guys not actually on the roster any longer? My first guess was Sumner hasn't actually signed, but I thought he had.

    50th pick....not a shocker

Sumner is a two way contract you can have two of those on top of the 15, so ya only 14 right now.

Sumner is a 2 way contract...there are 2 spots per team for those players, they can hop from D League to NBA, will be interesting to see who the other person is.
"It's just unfortunate that we've been penalized so much this year and nothing has happened to the Pistons, the Palace or the city of Detroit," he said. "It's almost like it's always our fault. The league knows it. They should be ashamed of themselves to let the security be as lax as it is around here."

We didn't draft Ben Moore. We did give him a partially guaranteed contract as an undrafted FA.

The 2 guys we drafted in the 2nd are Anigbogu and Sumner. Anigbogu is on a regular contract, so uses up one of the 15 roster spots. Sumner uses up one of two 2-way contract spots.

Anyway, sorry to Niang go. I was looking forward to see what he could do this year, but then we acquired 2 young guys ahead of him, then he had that unfortunate injury at the start of summer league. IMO it ended up being a numbers game, since we have a lot of bigs and are short on wing depth. I wouldn't mind if he sticks around with the Ants.

For those calling for Joe Young's departure, FYI his contract is already guaranteed for the year.

Have we signed Ike officially? I'm assuming we are at 13 players we are going to keep with Monta being our 14th person since he hasn't official been cut loose

I really like Thad. Not sure why he's being targeted. I know he has value and we are looking to rebuild, but he's a good locker room guy and a good guy to start rebuilding the team's culture.
Lance is finally home. Whether he becomes our starting PG or he's 6th man, he's getting big minutes and he's here to stay. #llortontnia

Thad is a good player. The main reason why people in this forum are talking about trading him is because we need to give all the minutes we can to our young PFs. Plus, Thad actually has trade value unlike Monta and Al.

Fair point. If Sabonis and Leaf are ready for that, good. I think Sabonis is ready and hope Leaf can play some backup minutes. I like them both but think Leaf has the better potential being longer and more athletic. Looking forward to the season for the first time in several years.

I don't think that it matters if they're ready or not. We shouldn't really be worrying about wins and losses right now. As long as Domantas and Leaf can physically handle it (we don't want to overwork them, obviously) they should be getting all the minutes we can give them.
