I've herad a rumor that it's more than just luxury cap relief, but the salary actually comes off the books entirely.
IF that's the case, I would have to think Croshere could be waived, although it's also tough to see the Pacers doing that to ANY player. It actually might be a good thing if they let every team do this one time every 4 years or so.
Wouldn't it make more sense for the Pacers to waive Reggie. They plan on paying him, and he's not going to play anyway. Their is a chance Bender might lay and Cro will play. The pacers will get almost as much luxury cap relief waiving Reggie
This is the best idea I've heard on this waiver deal. Period!
The Pacers will NEVER waive Reggie Miller. Not as long as Donnie Walsh has anything to do with the franchise.
If Bird were making the final call, maybe.
I don't agree. He has the Simons to consider also. If they say they don't want to pay the tax then he would have to consider waiving Reggie. Then if he thought that was the best way to go he would do it.
Great, another thread hijacked into a Brad Miller debate.
Not "hijacking" anything.
The purpose of this thread was to discuss which salary the Pacers could possibly cut. Peck made the point that Walsh would never waive Reggie Miller. I was agreeing to that, and stating my problem with them paying Reggie next season.
One thing I'll never get is; why is there always some unwritten rule that you cannot mention Brad Miller? It's like people know it was an awful move, and just want to forget about it and act like it never happened.
