All fanbases are unified in the shared belief their role-players are the most inconsistent and their shooters the streakiest.

It's to be expected, as streakiness is mostly a product of cluster illusion (even though the hot hand effect actually exists, its impact is tenuous and hardly perceivable) and cluster illusions can't be formed without successive observations.

Not going to do the maths myself, but I've read somewhere suggesting checking standard deviation (forgot to quote the post) - that wouldn't work: the player with the higher mean will also have the higher variance. A runs analysis is the best way to treat this.
The coefficient of variation, which accounts for the relationship of the standard deviation to the mean, is probably much more accurate to measure consistency. I think I was the guilty party suggestion SD.

IMO, inconsistency gets more noticeable with a higher volume of shots. Personally I have been watching the Pacers for a long time without a single player striking me as terribly inconsistent...until CJ Miles. Yes, SJax was a bit inconsistent. It would be nice if there was some objective data on that.

Lance is finally home. Whether he becomes our starting PG or he's 6th man, he's getting big minutes and he's here to stay. #llortontnia

Not seeing the similarities between Croshere & Bojan besides they're both white & wear #44. If you're a big Croshere fan & have been looking for the next one here, well you're in luck because TJ Leaf is the closest thing to Croshere. Bojan is much more polished & a way better player than Croshere.

Leaf? I don't see that. TJ is really long and lean with a 9' standing reach and plays above the rim. Bojan does have more inside game than Cro but physically looks like Cro. Even his hairline...

But yes, Bojan is definitely more talented offensively than Austin and a better shooter. Bojan shoots way more threes than Austin ever did and has scored a lot more. Still, the way they move on the court looks similar to me.

Bojan was the leading scorer in Croatia's first game in EuroBasket 2017. Also on his team are Dario Saric and Dragan Bender.

    ...
Bogdanovic played a leading role in getting his country off to a strong start to the tournament, scoring a game-high 23 points in a 67-58 win over Hungary in their opening game on Friday.

The 6-8 swingman went 6-for-11 from the field and 10-for-11 from the free throw line in the victory while also tallying seven rebounds, two assists, and one steal.

Philadelphia 76ers forward Dario Saric added 15 points for Croatia, whose roster also features Phoenix Suns forward Dragan Bender.

I saw the game live. Bojan played well. Hungary was very scrappy but they were unlucky in the end.

Scrappy. Kind of think that's how we'll be describing the Pacers this year. Not necessarily good or bad, but scrappy.

Hungary managed to stay in the game against a superior opponent because they were physical and dominated the offensive boards. Do you think that we can do that?

He's very efficient, shot 5 of 8. He's their leading scorer but not the focal point of the offense (they don't really seem to have one).

Yeah, high-level national teams like Croatia rarely have a single focal point. There's a lot of talent there.

I forgot to watch today's game. Bojan was leading scorer again. Still efficient which is good because that's how he'll need to be for us. Glad to see that's his normal game. One thing I noticed in the previous game is that he doesn't look 6'8".

    ...
Bogdanovic scored 19 points in the first half on Tuesday. He finished the contest 6-of-10 from the field, including 4-of-7 from 3-point range, and 7-of-9 from the free throw line. The 6-8 swingman also tallied six rebounds and one assist in the win.

I know some are trying to say he is Croshere 2.0
Croshere was much more mechanical in his moves and when he drove he put his head down and often ended up with an offensive foul.

We really shouldn't be surprised that Bojan is doing very well for Croatia. He almost always does. He was great in Eurobasket 2014, he was great in FIBA World Cup 2014, he was great in Rio 2016. Eurobasket 2015 was the only tournament in which he wasn't that good. Other than that, he's pretty consistent at what he does. Give him the ball and he will score

Bojan is good, unfortunately like everything this offseason his signing was tainted by the post-pg putrid smell.

Looking forward to seeing him in the blue and gold.

I agree.. I actually think this team would be pretty good with PG on it (without Dipo and Sabonis), which is the biggest bummer.

Off game for Bojan, he only scored 15 points. 6 of 16 from the field. 0 free throws, he usually earns 10 or so.

Croatia let Saric shoot technicals (4!) instead of Bojan. That surprised me.

Spain featured Ricky Rubio, Gasol x 2, Hernangomez x 2, Sergio Rodriquez.

Oh gosh, don't make me hate him that quickly. Might as well call him Sarunas 2.0.

We'll see what we see when he plays against an NBA-level defense. Looking at the highlights, you could have put me out there and it would have been a defensive improvement.

Granted, Croatia wasn't in the strongest group but that's still an overreaction. Spain is a very strong team on both ends of the court.

Bojan has already played 3 seasons in the NBA and averages 11.3 points a game for his career.

Austin Croshere averaged 6.8 points for his career. In 12 NBA seasons, he never had a season where he averaged 11.3. I don't think Bojan will be another Austin Croshere.

Bojan scored 25 in 22 minutes against the Czech Republic. He shot 8 of 10 and was 4 of 4 from three. Croatia played their reserves a lot in this game.

Anyone that's surprised by Bojan obviously doesn't know anything about him or hasn't seen him play much. Which isn't surprising since he's played about 90% of his career in Brooklyn. Then again, all these Nets experts on here that is surprising.
