Default The NBA Draft - Pacer Digest Style - The L.A. Lakers

    This is how this works.

    1. Each night, around the same time, I'll post a poll question. It will be the next team in the draft order. Tonight it's the L.A. Lakers, tomorrow Orlando & so on. We'll stop with the Pacers pick at #17 just a few days before the draft.

    2. I'll list the current team "on the clock" and put a poll together with a group of players that could be selected by that team. Your choices will be two players at each position; center, power forward, small forward, shooting guard & point guard.

    3. Which ever player gets the most votes will be the player selected by that team.

    4. Once a player has been selected he will not be eligible to be selected by another team.

    5. Even though there will be trades that impact (thanks Jay) the draft, they will not have a bearing on our draft. A player most be choosen, we can not simply decide that the pick will be traded.

So, here's the NBA Draft - Pacer Digest Style

You're the one making the call on draft night. Tonight you are the Lakers. Who do you select with the #10 pick.

Here is how the draft looks so far.

    1. Milwaukee --------- Andrew Bogut --- 50 of 64 votes --- 78.13%
    2. Atlanta ------------ Marvin Williams -- 29 of 56 votes --- 51.79%

    4. New Orleans ------- Chris Paul ------- 23 of 30 votes --- 76.67%
    5. Charlotte ---------- Deron Williams --- 23 of 40 votes --- 57.50%
    6. Utah -------------- Raymond Felton --- 9 of 18 votes --- 50.00%
    7. Toronto ----------- Channing Frye ----- 9 of 43 votes --- 20.93%
    8. New York ---------- Fran Vazques ---- 10 of 33 votes --- 30.30%

Jack. I've seen some mocks where Felton falls down to them, but I don't see that happening.

Sean May. Vlade is not going to play next season from what I have been reading and Brian Grant is alright but not what he used to be or what they need him to be.

So May gets the nod here. He can score the ball down low. I think that him and Kobe would co-exist because there would be no cofussion as to whos team it is as there was with Shaq and Kobe.

Ike Digou could also get the nod here but I think May is defentily the better prospect with his abilty to score but Digou could play a Rodman role like Rodman did in Chicago with Phil back in Los Angeles.

I see no reason for LA to take Jack, I think that while he will be a quality NBA player LA should still not pass up the oppurtonity to get a big guy especially since LA doesn't need a true point guard in the Triangle. If they do want a PG from the draft i'd say Travis Diener [at 37 or 39.] because of his abilty to shoot, that would work well in the triangle IMO.
