Don't we have to wait on CJ unless the Pacers renounce him?
CJ opted out of the final year of his contract. He's a free agent.

I'd like to make a run at Otto Porter Jr. now. He'd be perfect to replace Paul.
Just offered the max by the Kings

You guys do realize that they just photo shopped PG13's face over Kevin Durant's old NBA Jam profile?

    What???

Nope, I didn't realize that. Welp, that's embarrassing

Yes, but he still has a cap hold.

We have $27 ml in cap space. Just throw a $96 mil, 4 year offer sheet at Otto. $24 mil per year.
He just got an offer for $104 million from the Kings.

And Domantas Sabonis. He's definitely a stretch 5. Myles has more mobility than he does and he's a 5 currently.

Domantas is definitely more of a 5 defensively but as you saw in the video above offensively he played more like a 4.

I think we'd be in a position to match that but it would take every drop of available cap space we have right now. But he's not gonna sign with them right? I mean it's, $104 mil but it's also the Kings.

Of course but we don't want him out there guarding the Marvin Williams and Kevin Love's of the world.

Obviously. As I said, Domantas is a 5 defensively. His one defensive strength is guarding post players. If we put him in a spot where he has to chase after small-ball 4s then we're gonna have a bad time.

Lol. Exactly how felt at the trade deadline and before the official trade.

Remember when we could have gotten 1-2 solid players and a possible Top 3 draft pick in the 2017 NBA Draft by trading away Paul George?

Blazers offered all their picks for this year plus any of their players minus the big 3 for PG ...

The picks sucked. All their players not named Lillard, McCollum and Nurkic suck. People need to get over this "Pacers took the worst offer" narrative.

This is sad. Having 15, 18, 20, 26 would have given us a good chance @ finding a star. Would've taken Vonleh too. This franchise sucks. No clue how to win. And I don't hate the OKC package we received. It's just Portland's was better.

Think I agree. Would've taken this offer with the same thought that with the 4 picks could've landed something with that many lottery tickets. Plus, could've done same trade blazers did and trade 15/20 for ten. Management must be big believers in Oladipo and Sabonis.

#10 would have giving us Monk

The picks would have been nice, but outside their big 3 Portland has nobody. Who would you want E. Turner, Crabbe, or Aminu Al-Farouq. No thanks. Oladipo is better than any 2 of them. We also got the 11th pick from last years draft. The only player I want that they drafted is Swanigan and we could of had him at 18.

It looks like Pritchard doesn't value draft picks out side the top five. They could have took Portland's 10th pick and had a choice of Mitchell, Kennard, and Collins. It probably came down they didn't want Crabbe and the Blazers weren't parting with Nurkic.

I don't really believe they would have given all 4 draft picks, with the salary situation they're in

I strongly felt that Portland was a strong candidate as a trading partner. I think Swanigan was a pick for the Pacers. Were not willing to give up one there good players

I think most people value draft picks too highly.

Would have definitely preferred the Portland package. I think Crabbe and Dipo are pretty close, add in Vonleh (who admittedly hasn't show anything but is 21) and come out of the draft with Monk, OG, Semi, Anigbogu and Sumner. That is a pretty athletic, versatile, young team that can shoot from most positions. Of course there are more than a couple injury concerns in that group as well.

What makes you think Crabbe and Oladipo are pretty close? Also, I get that the draft is fresh but all the guys you mentioned could end up bums. And Leaf/Sumner/Ike could end up steals in the vein of PG or Myles and Lance.

It would be embarrassing to re-read the draft reactions to picks like PG and Myles. On the flip side, this board LOVED the Hansbrough pick. And people were seething that the Pacers didn't draft Perry Jones a couple years ago... PERRY JONES.

Ehh I think the portland trade is pretty conparable. I think it's safer but dipo and sabonis have bigger upside.

What makes you think they aren't? Same age and Crabbe is a far more efficient offensive player who was like top 3 in 3 point % and also plays solid defense. Dipo is more well rounded but I think the gap isn't that wide. Draft wise we would have still picked the same dudes, but we could also have picked 10 and 26 or 15, 20, and 26. Of course those guys could bust, but Sabonis sure as hell isn't some surefire prospect either.

Also I'm no scout, but I was hyping Myles Turner for months before the draft, hated the Handsbro pick, and wanted no part of Perry Jones.

I would have taken Crabbe, 15, 20, and 26 all day over what we got. Then would have traded 15 and 18 to move up to 8 for Dennis Smith Jr. Used 20 on Harry Giles, and 26 on Josh Hart. Sign another SG/SF with cap room. I really liked Dennis Smith Jr though, and think he's going to be an all-star one day. Well at least he would have been in the East. I also believe Giles can become a 15pt 10reb guy in his prime, and Hart will be the glue guy off the bench for his whole career. A huge missed opportunity, IMO.

    Given us:
    PG Smith Jr./Ellis/Sumner
    SG Crabbe/Hart
    SF Lance/GRIII
    PF Young/Giles/Christmas
    C Turner/Anigbogu/Jefferson
