In my 20 years of following, I can't think of a potential 'face of the franchise' for us who seems as thoughtful, mature, and well-spoken as Myles Turner. I really am impressed by him from everything I've seen of him off the floor. He's so young, but it's easy to see him being a legitimate leader when you add all of this up with his enthusiasm and his reputation as a super hard worker.

The only fear I have of him, aside from bailing after year 7, , is his health.
Agreed. Amazingly level headed with a high intelligence. He's a pleasure to listen to.

Personally, I'm of the mindset that we have to go as young as we can now. Trade any player older than Lance (except Seraphin) for players under 25 or next year's picks (not picks 2 and 3 years ahead, next year's picks).
I do not 100% agree with this. Having veterans, even on a rebuilding team, is very useful and important. Veterans will push the young players to work harder, and achieve more than other young players will. The best way for an individual to improve is to play with and against better players. In most cases a veteran will be better than the younger players. Practicing and playing with that veteran every day will have a huge affect on younger players' growth.

Would love Harris as a Pacer. Prefer Sabonis over Lyles. Tough call. Had the pick be a guarantee First rounder or a swap that wasn't used turns into two 2nds.
Denver drafted Donovan Mitchell and traded him for Lyles, I have to think that was part of the three way trade. I thought the Pacers would have just kept Mitchell. Harris, Mitchell, and a first round pick would have been a good deal.

I'm just not sure that Al and Monta are those veterans. Seraphin I'm OK with.

Granger wasn't too bad in the media either.
You mean like when he said people from Turkey (or was it Greece?) smelled bad?

Or during the CBA negotiations when he said he was David Stern's Beotch?

That was one of the all time classic lines. Paraphrasing: Why doesn't anyone use deodorant over here, smells like dead donkey's.

Or one of my favorites was when his car got his by a limo driver in San Francisco and he tweeted out that San Fransico was the worst city ever.

Great guy but I'm sure Brenner wanted to bar him from Twitter.

But let's also never forget he made an account on here and posted a couple of times inviting people to his camp, so that was kind of cool.

the funniest part was Danny basically never actually tweeted, it was all marketing auto-tweets and PR stuff. then you'd get the random "doesn't Turkey have deodorant?" once every like 6 months

Woj is reporting that Indiana is considering an offer of Jordan Clarkson and Loul Deng for Myles Turner and a 2018 1st round pick.

Meh...we could do worse for one year.

Remember when we could have gotten 1-2 solid players and a possible Top 3 draft pick in the 2017 NBA Draft by trading away Paul George?

I think is his ceiling is a Gallinari-type player and if so, that would help.
If you mean Gallinari in terms of playing ability then I can agree. If you mean Gallinari in terms of playing style then I'll have to disagree. Sabonis is much more of an inside player than Gallinari.

Idk why PG got an 8 for clutch
I thanked the post for the assets joke but I do think that the 8 in clutch is kinda warranted. Maybe a 7 would be more appropriate but PG was generally quite good in the closing 2 minutes of the game. He just wasn't that good at making the last shot but that's not all that clutch is about.

I'd say that it depends on the veteran. If that veteran comes from a winning culture and can motivate the young players then I'm fine with having one. But if that isn't the case then I don't see the reason. In general, I believe that veterans are absolutely key when you're contending but when you're rebuilding their importance fades away.

I think you could argue Granger, but George wasn't nearly where he is now. However, in terms of creating, driving, shooting, I think it's easily Teague.

West couldn't consistently create his own shot. Monta Ellis lost the speed and athleticism he had earlier in his career. Jefferson has been overweight.
West > Teague. And west could create his own shot about as much as any PF in the league. Frankly, West at his best here was more reliant on offense than PG ever was. PG was just more volume.
