Let's see. So I've got to get better on offense, and I've got to get better on defense? Is there anything I do that you like?

How much Salary Cap space do we have left?

I am fairly certain that IF we wanted to sign Dedmon.....we can. My guess is that he could be had for a very reasonable contract.
I think it's roughly 5mish. Could always use an exception though.

What's crazy is if Devin Booker was still at summer league he would be eligible to go. Dude is still only 20

"everything moved so fast". They had the agreement before free agency even officially opened. Fast is an understatement.

I'm guessing that 5 mil left includes us paying Monta his full salary? No stretch?

Remember those totals do not include signing 2nd round picks Anigbogu or Sumner.

Sumner was signed to a two-way contract; essentially a minor league deal. The meager contract doesn't count against the cap.

Also, we gained a bit from moving CJ's cap hold for CO JO, right?

According to Real GM, Melo will most likely end up in Houston but the Knicks don't want Ryan Anderson's contract. So they're seeking out a 3rd team. How about Indy steps in and we can lift Willie Hernangomez and a 1st from the Knicks, and Trevor Ariza from the Rockets? As a price for taking Eric Gordon into our cap.

Wow, so we get Willie Hernangomez, a lottery pick from NYK, Trevor Ariza, and Eric Gordon for nothing but cap space? Take a bow, big guy.

You think the Knicks will give us a first AND Hernangomez, while also taking Eric Gordon and Trevor Ariza?

First off, I'm just gonna ignore how dumb that is from the other teams PoV... Where the hell do you think we're getting all that cap space from?

We'd be sending Thad to the Knicks. But yeah, we're helping to facilitate a transaction. The deal don't get done without us. Houston wants Melo bad, Knicks want to trade Melo badly. So we send Thad to the Knicks, we get Willie and a 2019 pick. We are doing Houston a favor by taking Eric because without us taking him and furthermore Ariza? They cannot take Melo onto their books according to CBA rules.

We'd be trading Thad to the Knicks. But they're in a scenario where they want to move on badly from a high salaried player. So we as facilitators should get some good stuff back. We're doing both teams a favor.

If Melo goes to Houston that takes another All Star out west. East forwards are gonna be *** next year.

Bron, Giannis, Hayward, Love, Derozan (could potentially be a SF in an effort to get more guards in) Porzingis or Jabari could potentially get in for the first time

Isn't Jabari out injured for quite a while longer?

Forgot about Heyward. So that's 4 out and 1 in.

Porzingis will probably get in next year. Jabari won't be back in time.
