If the rumor is true that we are talking to Holiday, how bad did we **** up the '09 draft?
We were rumored to be interested in Taj Gibson as well before the trade happened.

If we end up throwing a huge contract at Jrue ****ing Holiday I'm going to flip a *****.

Not a hot take yet, but all of our moves have gone downhill since Morway left and Walsh returned.

does Holliday play defense? if yes, sign him up...would be nice if he could shoot too...
He's injury prone. We have Lance to help run the offense....but I DO NOT WANT injury prone Starters in our lineup. I want consistency in our Starting lineup.

4 seasons ago, he played 78 games. But since since then...he's played a total of 139 games over the last 3 season ( 34/40/65 games ).

Who knows what dominoes might have fallen if they just took Jrue...maybe there would of been no desire to trade for Hill. Yeah...imagine that, no Hill trade. We'd still have the rights to Erazem Lorbek :0

I would be happy with George Hill at this point.

Is Tony Donohue even legit? Better sources are saying Jrue and New Orleans will reconvene tomorrow to talk new deal. Pacers not mentioned.

He covers the Pacers and Indy related sports for Indy 1070 AM.

Even if it isn't......you don't think that there is some legitimacy to this rumor given that KP was going to pursue him as part of the Pacers Re-tool plan to convince PG13 to stay?

Now that we are in a re-tool plan....why would that change?

Because Gallo fits more of what we need now? A 3pt shooting SF?

Also if we're rebuilding why Jrue? For long term deal?

I don't want Gallo for the same reason why I don't want Jrue. Seriously....he's worse. The guy has ON AVERAGE for the last 5 season missed 1 out of every 3 games. Think about that.....he's played between 40 to 60 games for the last 5 seasons....with the exception of the 2012 season where he played 71 games.

Believe me....I love the guy on paper and on NBA 2k17 as a versatile scorer.......but the guy is injury prone.

    Also...Galo isn't a SF....he's more of a Stretch 4.

He was completely healthy last season. Games he missed were to be beside his ill wife.

I'm not of the opinion that the wisest move is to necessarily throw a large contract at one of these free agent point guards (esp. with PG's departure). But if that was the FO's plan all along, Jrue is my personal preference - he's younger than both Teague and Hill, and (IMO) a more complete point guard.

I like Holiday actually. Kind of a cross between Hill and Teague and a couple years younger. I just don't want to max him out, but if he wants to play here I'd probably give him Teague money for a few years. We'd probably have to offer him more though.

I completely forgot about the situation with his wife.

That makes me feel a little better about the # of games he played last year. I'm still a little weary though.

He wasn't completely healthy last season. He missed games with turf toe. Hopefully that won't be chronic.

I only like Holiday if we are somehow making a realistic move to get Hayward, which feels unlikely. Not sure it could work under the cap either.

Even Holiday + Gallo with the new lineup could be fun but obviously a middling team. Not sure how I feel, I'm not a huge tanking advocate so I keep an open mind about these things.

I feel that we should be setting our sights lower. Very unlikely IMO that we go after Jrue or Gallo now. Think more along the lines of Darren Collison and Ben McLemore.

Free agent guard Jrue Holiday has reached agreement on 5-year, $126M deal to stay with New Orleans, agent Jason Glushon tells ESPN.

Thank god. Dodged one "retool" bullet.

Incentive clauses could push it to 5yr/150mil.

Makes Teague's deal look like steal.

Celtics need Hayward now. Without him they got no better with all the assets they had to do so and catch CLE.

I can see them signing Hayward then trading for Andre Drummond, who is exactly what they need.
