Default Who are the FA this year?

Where is there a listing of FA's that will be available this summer?

I was reading the story about Cleveland getting to $20 mil or more under the cap and wondered just WTH they would be targeting. IE...if they do release Big Z...who is out there that they feel is better?

The idea of adding some top notch FA to LeBron is something that grabs my attention anyway.

Wow...you've got way too much free time...thanks for taking the time to do that.

NOw I gotta go study it...'cause unless Curry is ok, I'm not sure any of the big men are any better than Z.

Actually, I had that saved on my computer for a rainy day.

And Curry's heart ailment is nothing more than a stock dropping scheme. I believe he'll be fine and back with the Bulls next season.

I was reading how Cleveland is gonna be 24 mil under the cap in the 2006 season. That should be enough to sign 2 impact FAs that summer.

Looking at our Salary cap situation...what year are we gonna have the most money freed up?

Is it when Croshere and Bender come off the books in 2 seasons?

Barring trades and/or a drastic increase in the cap, no time soon. In 2009-10, the Pacers will be sitting around 38 million -- barely under today's cap -- barring any potential signings.

I'd like to see Indiana get a lights out shooter ala Jason Kaponno or Kyle Koorver. I doubt we get either though, especially Kyle Koorver.

Another solid addition could be Richie Frahm.

After the Pacers kick Croshere and/or Bender to the curb.....are we gonna have enough to at least sign a somewhat decent FA that year?

I hate that we are in a sitution where we can't get the type of impact player that we want without making a trade for players that we want.

Unless he is a role player....any of those players would be playing the 3rd backup position for either the SG/SF spots.

To answer you're question, no, not outright. It'll be the same thing as every year -- the mid-level exception, which is certainly enough to sign someone of use. It's just a matter of spending the money.

Ah, the curse of having good players under long-term contracts -- Artest, Jackson, O'Neal, Tinsley, Foster all signed for at least four more years. And generally, all reasonably priced.
