TJ needs to go to Fort Wayne until 2018. He can learn the physicality of the game and get on the court. No way does he play more than 14 mpg until he responds better on the defensive end.
better to learn it against the big boys. you only send him north if you think he's getting discouraged by getting his butt whooped.

He will get his butt whooped in the NBDL. At least he would get confidence on the other end. He won't be on the court long enough to get into rhythm on offense.

The Pacers are not going to draft TJ Leaf at #18, who has an ability the Pacers badly need a stretch four, who is a long range basket maker, then send him to the G League.

If the Pacers decide to rebuild he will see far more minutes than most think

Ike was getting scored on by small guards in that video left and right too...and Leaf's defense was atrocious! Only defense is that Alford's game plan was to win 100-90...clearly did not emphasize defense in any serious way...

I hope you are right. But we are going to be leeeeeeaaan in the front court. Some teams will destroy us in the paint with that lineup.
Lance is finally home. Whether he becomes our starting PG or he's 6th man, he's getting big minutes and he's here to stay. #llortontnia

TJ Leaf is looking really good. I know it's just summer league, but i'm excited.

Travis Diener still hold the Orlando Summer League scoring record?

that made me look it up. Diener had 21 career starts. they were all for us in 07/08. look up that roster, it's wild, look at the backcourt.

The offense he generated in the last game was varied and smart. He is going to play at least something like Myles did.
So 20 minutes a game is highly likely. Myles at center, Sabonis at PF and Leaf at sf.

With Turner, Sabonis, and Leaf, I feel like Thad Young should be moved soon.

offense is great, and translating way better than I anticipated...but I still see the alarming lack of defensive awareness and rebounding IQ that expose him as a target against starting lineups. I hope he has a body that can put on muscle, but even if that is the case, I don't know how much he can change to improve his drive/awareness when it comes to positioning for a rebound. I have yet to see one satisfying attempt at a box-out.

That being said, I think he is showing to be a smart pick at 18, and will give us great scoring off of the bench in his reasonable outcome as a pro. I am hoping the defensive liabilities stem from playing in the fast-paced UCLA system where he didn't need to worry about the dirty work on defense (we drafted the reason for this at #47, heehee).

Another factor here is that he is playing against types of big men in Summer League that he won't be expected to in many NBA lineups. I can see him guarding many of the league PFs who are undersized and spend a majority of their time camped at the perimeter. In Summer League, there are a lot of NCAA style big men that spend way more time in the paint, and are exposing Leaf's weaknesses there.

I've been impressed, but he needs to hit the gym this offseason. Gortat or someone is going to make a Turner-Leaf frontcourt pairing look like pinatas.

Ike needs to get healthy and put the hammer to The Hammer.

Color me optimistic but I truly believe that TJ is going to spend the majority of his time as a SF. If he has a ceiling of Gallinari, minus the injury troubles, I'll be thoroughly satisfied.

I have no idea how you guys think Leaf has the lateral quickness to be a SF.
