And now we know why Larry quit.
I honestly wondered about that when that initially happened...

Kind of funny to see Pacers (homers) writers do a 180 after all the bs PR from last week lol

    "I love Indy though..."

That's about as convincing as the smile you give some weirdo who used misleading instagram pics when you finally meet up for a date.

I dont want this trade, but i'm messing around with some scenarios.

    SAC gets

    PG
    Ellis

    Pacers get

    Rudy Gay
    Tyreke Evans contract
    10th pick

We get a pick and shed about 5 million in cap space assuming Rudy Gay is opting out.

    Minnesota gets

    PG
    Ellis

    Pacers get

    Pick 7
    Pekovic
    Brandon Rush
    Tyus Jones

Indy saves 3 million which could possibly turn into 15 million in savings if Pekovic retires early

I think Boston is just trying to degrade his value and avoid trading too much for PG.

Wouldn't be surprised if we trade him to Boston in the draft.

Woj isn't omnipotent or anything, but he didn't get the reputation he has for NBA reporting by letting agents use him as a pawn for reporting what turns out to be fake news.

Never expected loyalty but did expect to do the right thing and keep quiet and let the team get something. Not be selfish and handcuff the team all but eliminating any trade options so you can be cozy until you bolt. **** off PG13.

I am away from the computer so I have to make this quick. This honestly may be the worst I've ever felt as a Pacers fan. I hated the brawl team so it imploding didn't bother me like everyone else. But this right now feels like we are going to be as low as a franchise as we can be.

I've lived through rebuilding, it sucks and sucks bad.

Right now I am furious at both bird and Paul. Bird fir the absolute crap job he did in rebuilding the team and Paul for putting this out there

Pacers need to do the one thing the system allows and that is play for the lottery next year and hope....
Get the best, salary friendly deal for PG and let him play wherever that might be next year because being in Indy is the worst case scenario: Inflating Indy's record at best for no gain with PG, and/or spinning wheels unable to build for future with a major player that won't be here in a year anyway.

I imagine his desire to leave has played a factor in lockerroom interactions and the on court product for a while. I doubt it's been a secret either in words or actions, or some form, with his teammates. He played 1/2 or more of last season on cruise control before finally coming around the second part of the season.
Nuntius was right for a while. I was wrong for a while. But ultimately I was right and Frank Vogel has been let go.

What do you mean "this way". I have read this forum and for the past year most said they wished PG would be open and honest with the Pacers, that he owes them that. well it appears if Woj is correct, PG was open and honest - which is what everyone wanted. So what Am I missing on this specific issue
I think the issue is for PG to be honest with the FO, not allow it to leak to the world and ruin the Pacers' bargaining position.

I wonder if it's possible to find out whether Paul deliberately leaked this, allowed his agent to leak it, or if he didn't consider the possibility of his agent leaking it? I highly doubt he told his agent not to and then his agent went behind his back, so it probably has to be either he did it on purpose, didn't say "don't leak it" to his agent so his agent decided himself to do it, or he was inconsiderate and didn't think about it either way and his agent decided to do it, right?

It was already leaked since the trade deadline

I've been on the verge of turning in my NBA fan card for the past couple of years due to what the league has become. This is probably the final straw for me.

Or Pritch released it because details of a diabolically one sided trade with LA are about to come out and he wants the fans to have context...

It is just "meh" to me at this point. I like it but I don't have the passion I had for it when I was younger.

A lot of this comes with age. At this point, I can only get worked up about a bunch of guys younger than me playing hoops. When I was a kid, I looked up to these guys. As a normal 31 year old guy, I know none of these players would give me the time of day so why am I gonna invest a bunch of emotion in them? I am more worried about getting promoted at the end of the year and buying my first house.

I'll probably get deeper into it when I have kids and they start liking the Wizards and getting invested in it for themselves. This cycle is the kinda thing I see a lot.

Well this directly contradicts what he said as recently as the other day.

I know Woj is treated like Nostradamus but it still smacks a bit of pressure coming out of Laker land to trade them Paul George for a pu-pu platter. Why inform the team of all this two days after saying the exact opposite publicly?
I know Woj pretty well he wouldn't report it unless he knows 100%. He literally knows everyone and there is a reason everyone gives him info. He treats people like gold.

Very interesting timing wise would guess we are close on a trade already. I asked Woj last summer at the summer league and he was saying George is all but gone then. It hasn't been a secret in the league.

The last time I have felt like this was post brawl.
That was a punch in the stomach, but this is considerably worse.

After the brawl there was hope. The NBA didn't seem to be broken. We just had some player issues.

Buck - the NBA is broken, at least for many fans. There is no point in trying to rebuild because star players will just go elsewhere. The entire exercise of following the Pacers is a waste of time.
Lance is finally home. Whether he becomes our starting PG or he's 6th man, he's getting big minutes and he's here to stay. #llortontnia

Given your rep on this board I believe you entirely. Man, Bird was a stubborn SOB.
