What are the Lakers going to do? They have the high draft pick, they have Russell (please please trade him to the Pacers), they have Ingram at SF, surely they aren't keeping all of them along with PG?
Would make some sense for them to dangle Ingram in a PG trade. I mean, they play the same position. Ingram+Clarkson+Nance or some **** is probably the best Laker package we can hope for.

I think everyone in Pacer-land (PD****) is going to be surprised on what we get in return. Everyone around here thinks we'd be lucky to get a couple 2nd round picks. It's funny if you look up other fanbases takes they'd give up quite a bit for a 1-year rental of PG. The guy is a top 15-20 player...there's gonna be at least 1 team that's willing to take that gamble. But even if you get him for 1 year & then his $18 million expires that's pretty good.

As I've said on here before, if this PG was available during our ECF runs I would have given up 1st round picks & or players, not named Hill, Lance, PG, West, Roy, for 1-year of PG with a chance to resign him after we competed for a title.

Have some faith people. We're gonna get something to jumpstart this rebuild. Can't wait for Thursday.
I'm confident we'll get a first rounder (not super high), and a young player a team is ready to give up on.

Maybe, probably. We won't get offered anything close to the reported packages we were offered at the trade deadline.

I think it did a lot more than people will admit. I was thinking this when I saw the Warriors won on the news the next morning.

That's fine because i'll take the #2 pick without any of their young talent and run with it.

Another thing to remember with Phoenix is they have 2 first round draft picks in the 2018 NBA draft, their own and Miami's.

As an outsider, I don't think it makes sense for the Pacers to acquire Love, but rather to flip him to another team for young players and draft picks.
It's the best way to gain leverage that's for sure.

David Aldridge says the Pacers current asking price is a starting caliber player and 2 first round picks.

Phoenix has the 32nd pick in this year's draft too.

They're an example of a team the Pacers could flip Love too. Orlando is as well. They have Toronto's first round pick this year.

I hope this is a joke because Monta is only suspended for 5 games.
A joke? It only took 5 games for the Warriors to win an NBA championship if you ignore the first 94.

lol Magic really played us dirty. If this is the case then they get no PG trade, even if our other offers suck. And the Lakers would be on the permanent doodoo-list as far as trade partners. I do hope they give us DRuss, even if that's the only piece of value. I heard they were planning to shift him to SG, which I think is a mistake + makes a logjam with him, Ingram and PG as starters.

I don't know why LA wouldn't want to guarantee PG by just trading for him now? Trade the #28 & Nance or Randle + Clarkson. They get rid of Clarkson's deal + Randle who they aren't going to resign anyways. Why risk a team winning him over & losing him? Just doesn't make any sense to me. If I'm LA I want him now.

Clarkson gives us a legit backup pg & no more trash veterans on 1 year deals + scoring off the bench. Randle or Nance Jr. would be a great starter next to Myles + 28.

They'll step up to the plate before this is all over.

Monta doesn't mean much in the NBA landscape.

The Warriors improved after they traded him.

And people thought he was too dumb to be a GM in this league with no experience(I mean the jury is still out whether he was good but he's ruthless when many thought the Lakers would falter with him in charge)

You have to think, unfortunately, that the fact that Randle and Russell share the same agent as George will factor in the trade discussions.

I can't believe this clowns are so naive this is ridiculous.

If many guys in PD (including me) could tell he was leaving this clowns who are supposed to do this for a leaving didn't even get a hint and they are surprised? FIRE THEM ALL !!!!

...They probably weren't so dumb as to think it couldn't happen. They probably figured he wouldn't torpedo his trade value by announcing this though. And were probably naive enough to think he'd play out next season and this public scenario never, ever, happen. And he'd take into account next season before making this decision. So, in their minds, with the right moves, he might re-sign.... Or they'd be in a position of power to decide to move on from PG if they felt a decision against them was a foregone conclusion. IOW, they were trying to have the cake and eat it too and not make a snap decision.
    They thought they had time.

So that is probably what really surprised them... He took that away this weekend.
Nuntius was right for a while. I was wrong for a while. But ultimately I was right and Frank Vogel has been let go.

I'm just not very patient. When I want something I want it now. If LA wants PG & PG wants LA then I get it done right now rather than later. Why put any risk in it? Just get it done now & start the process a year early. Everyone is happy

This made me look at this client list.

It's pretty garbage outside of PG. Though he did get Allen Crabbe that massive deal.

Yeah at this point I'm just hoping we get a pick and a guy who isn't total garbage and that the Lakers get screwed.
