If Paul George truly wants to play with Hayward, why couldn't he recruit him to Indiana where he is from?

    Shame
PG is not a recruiter. Only 1 time during his time here, which I couldn't believe he said it & after he said it I was excited as hell, he mentioned recruiting @ the podium in Toronto last season after their Game 7 loss & said, "Me and Monta are going to do some recruiting this offseason." Either he did & failed, probably because Monta was involved, or more likely he didn't do it.

You hear stories all the time about players recruiting each other. Draymond Green called KD after the game in the parking lot after Game 7 Finals loss to Cavs last year. PG doesn't do that.

PG is buddy buddy with a lot of guys around the league but I don't think he actually hangs with them at all. I saw a quote the other day that he wouldn't speak to LBJ all summer. But during Cavs-Pacers games you'd think LBJ is PG's boy.

Would you guys do DeRozan for PG straight up ? A consideration from the Zach Lowe podcast.

Nope. Backwards move with a highly paid, less accomplished & less versatile second tier star. Team needs to re-boot when PG moves on.

    Absolutely not.

This Paul George thing ranks near the top of Pacer's Digest history in terms of intensity on the site. The emotions are just out of control.
Nah still nowhere near Lance thread

I wonder if it would be feasible to trade Paul to SA for Aldridge, sign Hayward, then re-sign Teague.

There are two types of quarterbacks in the league: Those whom over time, the league figures out ... and those who figure out the league.

Heard that this morning and yup pretty much what happened, he has pretty much been given the treatment as of late, shoe contract, NBA2K, definitely living the life. Wish he had that intensity like he had when he was younger, that mindset to prove he was the best, now he more or less wants it given to him.
The crazy part....I was listening to a podcast with some actual media voters on it. The general feeling was that Paul George didn't deserve to be All-NBA, and that he was playing the season like he was supposed to get All-NBA based on reputation alone. Some also felt that the "real" Paul George didn't appear until March. What's funny...one person said that the "real" Paul George should "have carried his team to a 4th-5th seed easily, and Indiana had no busy fighting for the 8th seed.".

Remember when we could have gotten 1-2 solid players and a possible Top 3 draft pick in the 2017 NBA Draft by trading away Paul George?

Not sure where I saw it, but I remember recently seeing KD said that story about Draymond calling him isn't true.

At the very end of the Lowe-Windhorst podcast today, Windhorst was talking about ESPN's plans for covering the start of Free Agency next week. He said something to the effect of, "we'll even have our own big free agency announcement around that time." I assumed he was talking about Woj. I've noticed several of the Woj's Yahoo guys have been appearing on ESPN radio shows in the last week when they rarely did before. I personally think it sucks that ESPN is getting rid of guys like Marc Stein and Chad Ford so Woj can bring his entire crew over. Oh well.

Is Woj still going to ESPN? I hope he doesn't. I do wonder if he is employed by ESPN, if they will let him break news about 5 minutes before each draft pick. I admit following him more than I did ESPN's coverage.

Because why tell Hayward something he already knows the Pacers settle for mediocrity.

BTW: I'm pretty confident Lebron James and Kevin Durant got heavily criticized for their actions. And fans of said teams suggested those players should have spoken up...

They were and in some ways still are but the revisionist history amongst most sports fans would let you think otherwise that what they did was smart and savvy. Despite the fact that when they left their respective teams those teams got nothing in return.

The Pacers may get at least something in return for Paul it may not be to everyone's satisfaction but its more than OKC and the Cavs got at the time.

It was better PR for the team since they looked like victims rather than fools but that's about it.

I am not na´ve or stupid. My position all along was PG is too good to not do everything you can do to keep him and not to stop trying to do everything you can to keep him until either PG leaves or he says 100% he is leaving. And to me that didn't happen until a week ago today.

    This.
Too good for his own good, let him go, he will never lead us to a championship with his current mindset, meaning the past couple years, he no longer has the edge, blames others for his problems, and has became a crybaby who tries to take over games in times that he can't! He needs to learn how to utilize his teammates better, and get back to playing hard all game. He is pretty much a wash at this point and we should have traded him at the deadline when his value was highest.
    Why so SERIOUS

    Back at Fresno State
    Well before the hate

Paul dreamed of being a Clipper
    Not knocking up a stripper

He caught the eye of Larry Bird
Who never knew he was a turd

At number 9 Bird picked him
    Convinced Paul was a gem

Paul played well for the BlueNGold
Until one day it got old

They say he did Hibby's wife
It was the best of her life

    Catfished they do say
For a roll in the hay?

Then his leg took a snap
No more dancing on his lap

    He returns to the game
    where his attitude becomes lame

    He whines like a baby
    And slacks like he's lazy

    He wants to contend
But will not say it's the end

He waits until the right time
To stab us in the back like slime

He wanted to go back home
And that's the end of the poem.
Lance is finally home. Whether he becomes our starting PG or he's 6th man, he's getting big minutes and he's here to stay. #llortontnia

You'd have to do a complete Salary Dump of AlJeff and/or Monta while getting back no Salary to even have the option to make an offer to Hayward ( or anybody that will get a contract bigger than $16 mil a year ).

    How about this one

    Goran Dragic
    Chris Bosh

    for

    PG
    Monte Ellis
    A.Jefferson

Bosh wants to play, so we play him. We get Monte and Jefferson off our books. We get a pg in Dragic who's signed for 3 more years. And who knows, maybe we get a really awesome Chris Bosh. Or maybe he retires. Who knows.

Nevermind. Apparently he wont count on their cap next season.
