Maybe Celtics want PG and Hayward so they're trading back to make room for Hayward financially? They also get another pick asset from Philly and can trade the #3 for PG instead of the #1, which a lot of Boston fans hated. Not as big of a blow if you're trading the #3 pick and still get another pick next year. Yes, I'm reaching.

So they want Hayward but they are also moving down so the guy they are going to get plays the same position as him, yeah they are trading that pick.

They could look at several guys at #3. No clear cut pick there.

True but most of them are guards, unless Ainge Aingeslaps somebody else and keeps moving down until he gets like 20 picks lol

And anyone that plays guard can't coexist with Hayward?

You don't sign a win now player in Hayward and draft another guard when you have like 20 on your team, nope it doesn't make sense.

With that logic, the Lakers should have traded the #1 pick in 1982 instead of drafting James worthy. Because it just makes no sense for a team that wants to win now.

There is no scenario where a high draft pick is going to scare off Hayward. You're grasping at straws.

Nor is there a scenario where a high pick scares Ainge away from pursuing Hayward.

    Crazy stuff...

I just care about keeping Paul and improving the Pacers around him.

So if this somehow helps that happen: good.

If it's bad for that: crap.

I'm not sure this deal has any affect on it. We'll see soon I expect.

Brooklyn type fleece could be Lakers pick in 2018 and Sacramento's pick in 2019.

I think the Pacers are missing another opportunity right now to get a really nice package for PG. This day may be remembered just like the All-Star break, when/if PG leaves.

And another point I just saw Bobby Marks say on twitter is that Boston saves $1.4 million in cap space by trading down from 1 to 3.

Purely financial decision. Wanted Fultz forever this is a bummer. But Danny has balls. If they trade Fultz something big(ger) is going to happen

Celtics have been linked to Blake Griffin too. PF is a position of need for them. It's Amir Johnson and Jerebko. SG They have Bradley, Jaylen Brown. Already set there. Maybe they are seeing the 4 spot as a better option in free agency.

If this deal goes down, I would not be shocked if PG is dealt by the morning. Think about this. The Sixers would leapfrog the Pacers in the pecking order in the East. This would only make things look more dire in PG's eyes probably. And a Boston deal is still on the table. If Boston gets future picks from Philly, who's to say they wouldnt offer that #3 pick and one or two of Bradley/Smart/Brown. They might even be positioning for that type of trade and bringing in Gordon Hayward. Pritchard sure as **** better be working the phones or he's a fool.

I'm hoping for something like this, but doubtful.

Suppose Boston gets that #3 pick. And the 2018 Sixers pick or the 2019 Sixers pick thats from Sacramento. And Boston offers #3, the future Sixers pick and Jaylen Brown for PG. We would be nuts not to take that.

Danny wants the Lakers and Kings (picks future firsts) from Philly on top of #3. Saves about 1.5 million.. gets best available. Flipping players/picks for Butler. Attempts GH/Blake in FA.
