Please don't shoot me. I'm just the messenger... and I'm curious to see what you guys would think of the following trade idea posted on a Kings board.

Kenny Thomas and Corlis Williamson to Indiana

Ron Artest and Johnathan Bender to Sacramento

Comments? I know what I predicted most of you would say but I'm curious to see if I was right...

    Thanks.

I think Sacramento trading Chris Webber for Kenny Thomas and Corlis Williamson was a dumb trade. That doesn't mean Larry Bird is dumb enough to trade Artest for them.

The Pacer's have one of the deepest teams in the NBA, which wasn't a problem in last years season from hell. We have several young players that need playing time. Players like Fred and James Jones, and David Harrison. What we need to do is trade some of our quantity for some quality. Trading Artest and Bender for Kenny Thomas and Corliss Williamson wouldn't help the Pacer product on the floor at all, it would just create problems. Instead we would have 10 subs all of about equal ability, all wanting to play. The Pacers would be better off cutting Artest than doing that ridiculous trade.

No, if Sacramento wants Artest they are going to have to part with, Bibby, Miller, or Peja.

What would your board think of Artest, Bender, and Tinsley, for Bibby and Peja?

Tinsley is BYC, but it will probably work under the new contract. If you don't want Bender, how about Pollard? That will probably work as well.

(It's was rumored by Chad Ford that BYC will be done away with and trades will only have to be within 25% instead of the current 15%.)

I didn't realize we were trying to find ways to move JO to center. Anyway, Austin can fill in as a middlin' PF for the times when he does slide to center.

As well as Jeff Foster and DD.

Why would we need JO to play center when he's already expressed the fact he doesn't want to play C?

    LOL @ UB.

I think the Pacers need to move Artest if at all possible - and I'd leap at him for Peja. But not the original deal.

I like Kenny Thomas and Corliss is OK but neither fill a real Pacers need - though I guess getting rid of Bender could be considered a need but it's three years too late for that to matter much.

I think the original trade suggestion would even make David Whitely laugh out loud.

Unclebuck, posting doesn't prove you have read the thread. (grin)

How many times have you read something a guy posted and you knew he hadn't read the thread? Happens all the time.

Now in your case I choose to believe you. You read everything about the Pacers!

And aren't you the poor smuck . . . er . . . congratulations on winning the PD most Fanatical Poster award!

Shade - Drama? At least your drama didn't end with your franchise player being traded 22 hours before the trade deadline for Kenny Thomas, Corliss Williamson and Brian Skinner.
No, but ours got himself suspended 9 games in.

AND you don't have a good-looking prima donna who is apparently immune from criticism because, after all, he's such a pure shooter. He can put up crap numbers all year, play one decent game in the playoffs, and all of a sudden he's the future of the team again?
No, but you don't a slick-dressing prima donna who is allegedly the heir-apparant to Reggie Miller because he's a max contract player.

    Thanks. We try...

And if you'll look closely at the rules for posting, you'll see we blatantly stole them from Hicks...

I think there just might be something about Indiana that brings out the larceny in the Kings and their fans.

I don't know about the whole board, but I know what I'd say... but I can't say it here because I'm a guest and I was taught to always be polite when you're a guest somewhere.

I'm more than ready to kick Peja to the curb because he's not a warrior; he doesn't have the heart of a competitor; he's 6'10" and gets outrebounded by Bobby Jackson (5'11" on a good day); AND he said he'd rather be traded anywhere than play for the Kings. My attitude is "fine, dude. Don't let the door hit ya..." But I'm not Geoff Petrie.

I don't see us trading Mike Bibby, at least not unless it's in some mega deal that would bring us a legitmate replacement/successor for Chris Webber.

That Kings board is great. I registered and posted there a couple of times just after the 76ers added Webber and I recieved some terrific in depth answers to my questions.

The Kings will probably have to unload Kenny this summer because he won't be happy coming off the bench but that won't be easy because his contract is ugly and he is undersized at the 4.

Yeah, I'll pass. Ron for 'warm cookies' is better than that deal.

Not sure which smiley to use.

I don't mind Kenny Thomas, but for God's sake, we've already taken Pollard off thier hands when we could've just let Brad walk to Denver. No more Kings' rejects, please.

(Are they still mad at us about that whole "ha ha, now you've got Waymon Tisdale" thing??)
Why do the things that we treasure most, slip away in time
Till to the music we grow deaf, to God's beauty blind
Why do the things that connect us slowly pull us apart?
Till we fall away in our own darkness, a stranger to our own hearts
And life itself, rushing over me
Life itself, the wind in black elms,
Life itself in your heart and in your eyes, I can't make it without you
