Default [OT] Take THAT, Reggie! ;)

In the place where I work, about a month ago, we got a Pacers basketball machine. It's like one of those standard stand-alone games where you shoot the balls into a basket, and there's a bracket around the machine to keep the balls from going everywhere.

With this machine, you get 40 seconds to score as many points as possible. Each shot is worth 2 points, and in the final 10 seconds, they're worth 3 points. So, if you hit a shot a second, that's 90 points.

Anyway, when we got it, our distributor said that the highest score ever recorded on it was Reggie with 93 points.

Tonight, I got 108. I had scored over 90 many times, and had scores of 100 and 102 before tonight. But I never thought I could get 108. I only missed two shots, and must have hit about the last 40 in a row.

Reggie, I challenge you to come out of retirement and face me!

Then, Sassan is gonna come in under an assumed name and say you're not a true Pacers fan. This thread will then get moved to the Shout Box, where we will all take great joy in mercilessly berating him.

I thought we should just trade SJax for him, since he seems to be a consistent, reliable shooter.
Why do the things that we treasure most, slip away in time
Till to the music we grow deaf, to God's beauty blind
Why do the things that connect us slowly pull us apart?
Till we fall away in our own darkness, a stranger to our own hearts
And life itself, rushing over me
Life itself, the wind in black elms,
Life itself in your heart and in your eyes, I can't make it without you

I think we should sticky it first, though. Not quite enough sticky threads around for my liking.

I wonder what type of person he will be this time. I'm going to say a firefighter who saved 10 people from a burning building.

u misunderstood when the distributor said reggie....he was referring to reggie wayne...

reggie miller's forte' is shooting 25 footers to a 10 foot goal....reggie wayne is quite adept at 5 footers to a 6 foot goal...

    .......maybe it was "Reggie Evans?"

We all know you cheated. You probably walked up to the side of the machine, reached over and hit the little tab inside the rim.

Yeah, but Shade has well-documented maturity issues.

On the other hand, he's getting up there in years, so he might straighten out soon. Plus, he'd probably be able to get by on the veteran's minimum.
Welcome to Pacers Digest! New around here? Here are three tips for making the forum a great place to talk about Pacers basketball.

    • Log in. Even if you want to read instead of post, it's helpful because it lets you:
    • Change your signature options. You can hide all signatures by choosing "Settings" (top right) then "General Settings" (middle left) and unchecking the box "Show Signatures" (in the "Thread Display Options" area).
    • Create an ignore list. I know it may seem unneighborly. But you're here to talk about the Pacers, not argue with someone who's just looking for an argument. Most of the regular users on here make use (at least occasionally) of the "Ignore" feature. Just go to "Settings" -> "Edit Ignore List" and add the names.

    Enjoy your time at PD!

I thought, with the way he's handled the "always getting extra money in my account" issues, that he was really growing up.

Besides, with all that extra money in the bank, I agree that he's worth no more than the vet's minimum.

It didn't hurt that the timekeeper from IU Assembly Hall was keeping time for it.

Nuntius was right. I was wrong. Frank Vogel has retained his job.

No, when doing that, I can get over 140.

In fact, there were quite a few witnesses. I just I gathered a small crowd tonight watching. I hit close to 100 a few times and got people's attention.

How many times did you play it before you scored 108? Reggie probably played it once and scored 93.

A LOT. I peaked at 88 for quite a while. I've gotten in the 90s probably 30 times or so, now. But, seeing as how I shoot very quickly and only missed 2 out of around 45-50 shots, I'd say Reggie would still have his hands full.
