Wow, great stuff for a youngster like me. Who knew.

Tyrant probably has the funniest post I've ever read at PD with that eulogy. rememberance. reflection. whatever. it was all of those things and more.

If only I'd joined as xxxNaptownSethxxx instead. Gotta rep the Halo clan dontcha know, it's how I live my life now.

I was asking myself why I was waisting my time reading this until I got to the eulogy. Very funny!

Around awards time, this thread always makes "please, let's move on. this is how I live my now." possibly the greatest PD inside joke ever.

I sometimes wonder how ol' Earl is doing these days. Is he still working in the intelligence community? Does he still get phantom pains where his toes used to be? His grandkids are proabaly 5 or 6 now, I wonder does he still promise to take them out, or have they wised up to his on-the-fly lifestyle?

    Ha ha.

I've been gone for like a year. It's nice to know my single contribution to this great thread is still on page 2 of the Shout Box.

My "post of the year" award is loving displayed above the porch. Hick's signature alone brings numerous fans and well-wishers to my door to examine his penmanship. I regale people at parties with the story of my winning the "post of the year award and it has made me the toast of Bloomington's high society. Still, I remain the same old humble Tyrant I ever was.

I forgot this was about our awards. I thought there was going to be a thought provoking debate about the ESPY's, but then I realized I was thinking about the ESPY's and came to my senses. This is about much more serious stuff.

I need to go to bed.

Wow. I just re-read this thread and I have to say I'm pretty embarrassed.

I can't believe we gave Earl that much slack. "So sorry to offend you, Earl, but you sound just like Sassan."

Hindsight's always 20-20, I guess. Oh, and VT is a man among men.
Welcome to Pacers Digest! New around here? Here are three tips for making the forum a great place to talk about Pacers basketball.

    • Log in. Even if you want to read instead of post, it's helpful because it lets you:
    • Change your signature options. You can hide all signatures by choosing "Settings" (top right) then "General Settings" (middle left) and unchecking the box "Show Signatures" (in the "Thread Display Options" area).
    • Create an ignore list. I know it may seem unneighborly. But you're here to talk about the Pacers, not argue with someone who's just looking for an argument. Most of the regular users on here make use (at least occasionally) of the "Ignore" feature. Just go to "Settings" -> "Edit Ignore List" and add the names.

    Enjoy your time at PD!

    Thankfully, I haven't seen him.

A few years ago I got a minor consump at IU during Little 500. Did my service work Sunday morning, and wouldn't you know, VT was the supervisor. Of course I didn't know it was him at the time, but like two weeks after someone posted a pic of him and I made the connection.

Pretty laid back/funny guy in person. It wasn't the greatest experience, but we could have been stuck with a prick and made it worse. I've walked more places in Bloomington than I care to remember......

I've known VT's father and younger brother since college. VT was a couple of years older so I knew "of" him then but never communicated with him until he showed up here. Maybe I can track him down and beg him to return and grace us with his wit and humor.
Why do the things that we treasure most, slip away in time
Till to the music we grow deaf, to God's beauty blind
Why do the things that connect us slowly pull us apart?
Till we fall away in our own darkness, a stranger to our own hearts
And life itself, rushing over me
Life itself, the wind in black elms,
Life itself in your heart and in your eyes, I can't make it without you

    Tell him I have candy.

Or don't - whichever is more likely to bring him back.

Classic stuff here. It's been over 2 years since it was bumped. Originated more than 5 years ago. I remembered this and just had to find it and bump it.
