Default Throwing it against the wall to see what sticks

Would you consider this (assuming the stars align right tonight)

    Jermaine ONeal to Atlanta

    for

    #1 pick and Al Harrington.

Yes. With Al, I saw much more effort on every play.

No way. Im never in favor of trading for the number one draft pick with such a huge trade. Unless there is someone like a Lebron or a Tim Duncan DONT put too much stock in the draft when you are not trying to rebuild.

We play better TEAM basketball without JO. So with out JO, we would have AL to fil his shoes.

And we could possibly pick up a future all star.

OK, then think of a front line of

Ron Artest, Andrew Bogut, Al Harrington

With DD, Jeff, and David Harrison to back up the 4-5 and JJ the 3.

I'd do that trade without hesitation. I don't think Atlanta would.

If you think the offense gets stagnant with JO then why would you want to get Al back?

If this was one the past few drafts then yes, but this draft is going to suck. So probably not this year.

No. This draft is to weak.

I would trade Jermaine for Ray Allen though. Dont know if that can work or not.

How about Jermaine for the rights to Michael Redd and the Bucks #1 pick for 2005 and 2008

You don't trade big for small in those kind of trades and certainly not if the "small" that you get is getting older and demanding an outrageous contract and didn't have to good of a relationship with his former players and coaches, where he was the franchise player.

Ok, so ehmmm.... I want to know now which people wanted the Pacers to fight for the championship THIS and the coming year, because with this deal and I like Redd a lot we won't be getting ANYWHERE far in the play-offs, while the rest of our core gets older before our first round draft picks begin to get some real value ... IF THEY ever will, see I remember this fellow called Bender from a few years ago.

So, in short for me this is a BIG "No Way!!!". I'm starting to get the feeling people are REALLY underestimating JO and the impact he does have on the game.

I really did enjoy Al on the team, but Get rid of JO?? Nah, he's not the JO of '01 anymore, but he's a really good guy and really talented, I think that all anybody see's is Injured Jermain. We need to look at the fact that even though he had that shoulder injury to the extent he did, he always showed up for us, or at least tried to.

If JO never would have gotten hurt, this wouldn't have even come up.

For the original deal, no. Basically, you're getting Bogut who'll be a pretty decent NBA center but IMO will never be the player JO is.

If for some reason you decide you do need to change the face of the team again, I'd be chasing after Marvin Williams. IMO he's the closest thing to a "sure superstar" in this draft (and that's not very sure - not like Lebron).

So a deal such as JO for Magloire and the #2 pick ...

Of course then you need to figure out where Artest fits. For a year it's fine - he starts and Williams comes off the bench. But by year 2 I'd expect Williams to be able to start.

Which is all goofy - at some point you need to get into "win now" mode. If Artest's head is screwed on straight, I think the time is now.

Well remember, there are some of us who feel that the "core" of this team will not do anything in the playoffs. Not counting an appearence, or a first round advancement. I for one do not believe that this group of players have the focus and mentality to win high pressure games. But I think this goes in Anthem's thread.

NO WAY! you trade a guy that was 2nd team ALL NBA, 3rd in MVP voting last season for AL and an unknown (potential bust) #1 pick.

It depends how good you think Bogut is going to be. Personally i think he'll be a nice player, he'll probably make the all star team at some point in his career. I don't think hes a sure fire star and I don't think he's going to be a super star. Atlanta would probably make that trade because whether people like it or not Oneal is still one of the top 10 players in the game and is considered a franchise player. I love Al but thats not enough for me to do this deal.

I suppose so. Well to each there own opinion, let's just say I disagree with that presumption that our team wouldn't be able to perform admirably in the play-offs and going very deep. And what I am really wondering about is if what a lot of people are looking for is "nice people"-team, instead of a championship contending team. I can understand that, but again that is not what I'm primarily looking for.

I think we are just looking for people who don't bring baggage. I don't care if the contribute nothing to charity, just as long as the play through injuries the best they can, cause no inter-lockeroom problems, and play a mentally focused game. They don't even have to be as talented as others, but in the long run a team of players like I just described will beat a team of Stephen Jacksons (I like Jackson, I want him to stay as long as we get rid of some other combustible components that fuel his fire). Because eventually the pressure that comes in the playoffs will tear the ladder team apart.

I heard... a *rumor* of JO for Chris Bosh and Jalen Rose... and it was from someone, that'd actually know something. They just said there were talks of the trade, just sharing that bit with you guys.

Another "No thank you!" I REALLY like Bosh, but exactly how much post season exeperience does he have? We simply, in my opinion, don't have the time for players who will have to learn in the play-offs first, our time is NOW not in 2 years.

And I don't want Jalen to be honest, especially not with that more than horrendous countract of his running for 2 more years, while we already have Croshere and Bender as "bad contracts".
