Any interest in getting together for some pizza and Pacers talk in mid July?

I am in if it is not a weekend I am out of town. I am pretty sure there will be something to talk about.

This is a year where I'm interested in meeting for a draft party, then have a follow-up party in July/August.

I just saw that the July moratorium ends on the 11th this year. I hope that's wrong, I thought it would be easier.

    That leaves the 8th out.

15th might be too early too.

22nd or 29th would be better.... if we can wait that long.

Will hard liquor be served. It reminds me of the first party post brawl. We probably could talk for 6 or 7 hours on PG and all related issues - depending on where things are at the time

i thought they were shortening the morat period. Does it start on the 1st

edit: Jose I just saw in the new CBa the moratorium ends on July 6th. Starts on the 1st as always.

I glanced at Larry Coon's FAQ.

I thought they were shortening the period too. Glad to hear it'll be the 6th.

I'm really open to any date after the moratorium is lifted. I would like to wait for the dust to settle a little. The 6th being a Thursday would mean the 8th might be too soon.

I'll leave it up to the masses but the earliest I'm thinking is the 15th.

By Mid July, many of the major FA moves would have been made and you should have a good idea about how Teams are going to be setup going into the season. That may give you more conversational topics to discuss.

    Once more, I vote for:

    (1) a gathering (downtown or wherever) on Draft Day -- Thursday, June 22nd (draft begins at 7) -- to compare notes & opinions on trades, rumors & possibilities
    (2) our normal semi-annual gathering on Saturday, July 29th to hear Peck explain why Lavoy Allen is still on the team, Sandman hold forth about why a good coach never lets his team lose a 25-point lead, review Pritchard's work to date and discuss the upcoming season.

Don't the Pacers do a draft night party for season ticket holders?

If they do, that takes away a pretty sizeable number from our regular group. I wouldn't be able to attend either way, so if anyone wants to put something together for draft night I think it would be a blast.

A draft evening gathering would be interesting. It would be nice to be in a place where you can actually here the TV and each other.

They used to have one in the Fieldhouse and then they would have them at a downtown nightspot. Too noisy for me and forget about conversation. I will just stay home in that case. I can here people just fine on PD when I am at home. :-)

That's easy. A good coach would have pulled a player who ran away in terror from his opponent instead of playing defense.

It may or may not depend on where my kids will be on any particular evening, but I'll certainly try to make any gathering I can, and probably talk hoopsforlife into joining as well.

Only if I can have 2-3 hours to talk about how much I hate most of our bench, including a 30 minute diatribe called simply "Lavoy Allen: You suck"
