Looks like a bloke has just tweeted a picture of Paul and Dame together and suggested that someone should 'make it happen' - and then Lillard retweeted it.

It's not like it would be a PG for Lillard trade, it would be a trade to get PG and Dame together on the Blazers...

IF we trade Paul, I wouldn't mind Paul for C.J. McCollum and a 1st round pick. But I think we should hang on to Paul at least until July and see what happens. If we can't bring in a star to play along side of him and/or he has said that he is leaving next summer, then we look at trading him.

We probably wouldn't even get offered just McCollum for PG. His contract being for only one year and the speculation that he wants to play for the Lakers puts a big damper on his trade value...

If you were Portland, would you rather give up Lillard or CJ for PG ?

Him too??? Who's not been rumored to want to go to the Lakers?

Remember when we could have gotten 1-2 solid players and a possible Top 3 draft pick in the 2017 NBA Draft by trading away Paul George?

No I was talking about PG at the end. What I was trying to say is McCollum with his 4 year contract is an even more valuable trade piece than PG and his 1 year.

Though I doubt it'll happen but imagine a core of Lillard, PG and Turner. That's scary.

Portland is 25 million over the tax threshold next year.

I've said before that you can build teams by bringing together "stars from Siberia". Damian and PG sorta need each other. McCollum keeps recruiting PG. I say we reverse that and bring Damian here to Indy with PG!
There are two types of quarterbacks in the league: Those whom over time, the league figures out ... and those who figure out the league.

Cool it's going to take at least Turner, our first round pick, and something else good to make that happen.

Dame is a rich man's Jeff Teague. He will score you more points but his defense is, almost impossibly, worse than Teague's.

Well there's some interesting ties here.

Pritchard who now runs the Pacers basketball ops, used to run Portland's basketball ops side of things.

Nate McMillan used to coach Portland, now he coaches Indiana.

Pritchard loves to acquire extra first round picks. Portland has 3 1sts this year.

Portland is over the luxury tax and would have to unload Dame or CJ to get way under it. They could unload Crabbe also but Crabbe just came off of surgery for a broken foot. His trade value is diminished now until he can play next season and produce at a high rate post surgery.

CJ McCollum has floated how badly he wants Paul to be his teammate. Maybe that happens but instead he comes to Indy?

Portland currently has the 15th pick in the draft. A pick which previously was Denver's from the Nurkic trade. I don't see a replacement for Dame after the first 10 picks. Unless Portland has a plan to package all 3 picks to move down and get a replacement for Dame if they trade him. Portland lost in demoralizing fashion to GSW in the playoffs so they might be looking to blow it up. But then again Dame is a near impossible talent to replace. Unless you're doing a sign and trade for Jeff Teague. I am not sure why Portland would want to do that.

What would we give up to get Lillard? PG and Turner should be untouchable

Dame is more of a scorer, Teague is more of a distributer, neither plays a lick of defense. Dame is a better player, no doubt, but watching an entire season's worth of his defense would be mildly infuriating.

Lillard's really good but he isn't the same level of 2 way player Paul is. I think Lillard and 15 would be very good return on PG.

    If we had any leverage.

And outside of a package around Miles, we can't even compete with an offer for Lillard. So pairing him with PG on this side of the US is a pipe dream.

Which would take McCollum and more going back to the Pacers. Which would be a great haul for the Pacers.

Don't discount picks + cap space. With McCollum's skill set, Portland doesn't really need a great point guard, they just need a guy who plays defense. TBH they'd be wise to build around McCollum and Nurkic. I think Thad would fit their system quite well, actually.
