Thread: More Detroit bashing

DAN LE BATARD is a columnist, not a reporter. He writes to entertain and be read. He is the print version of sports talk radio and is darn good at it. Very funny column, but Pistons fans need not worry. Le Batard will soon be bashing the Heat.

This is a little off topic for this thread, but I really didn't want to start a new one.......

I was just listening to the Dan Patrick show on ESPN radio, and a caller just came on and said he was a Pistons fan. My ears kinda perked up, because he was calling in about the Philly debate going on. He the proceeded to say that the 76ers put up a better fight than the Pacers.
    Just stunned, completely stunned.........

Well the games Detroit won were blowouts with the exception of game 6.

    Games 2 and 3?.......

    Vs. Philly
    Game 1: W 106-85 21pts
    Game 2: W 99-84 15pts
    Game 3: L 115-104 -11pts
    Game 4: W 97-92 5pts
    Game 5: W 88-78 10pts

    Vs. Indy
    Game 1: W 96-81 15pts
    Game 2: L 92-83 -9pts
    Game 3: L 79-74 -5pts
    Game 4: W 89-76 13pts
    Game 5: W 86-67 21pts
    Game 6: W 88-79 9pts

    Ave. margin of Victory:
    Philly - 9pts
    Indy - 7.33pts

    Take away the wins:
    Philly - 14pts
    Indy - 14.5pts

Just as many "blowouts" against Philly.......

I think overall the Pacers put up a better fight than the Sixers. 4-2 vs 4-1 speaks for itself.

Howver, I think the Sixers played the Pistons rather well. They have two things that can tend to give the Pistons trouble. An extremely quick guard, and quick athletic big men.

The Sixers had a 10 lead with 7 minutes to go in game #4 but lost, and was competitive in game #5

Alright, fair enough. I didn't know the numbers on the Philly series. I didn't know that they were blownout as many times as we were. Gotta hand it to those Pistons. *******s.
