It's a very easy premise, writers/ journalists benefit more when their local teams are doing better. So there is inherit bias in who they chose to vote for or vote against. You can pretty much guarantee that Paul received no votes from writers in Chicago, Milwaukee, Detroit, and LA, perhaps even Boston.

All of the writers in those cities stand to benefit from PGs potential departure. Other national media writers for large media outlets like a Bleacher report or ESPN would vote against PG simply because Paul in LA or Boston will produce more clickable content.

Let's not act like being a sports writer is some sort of booming industry. These guys want job security.

This is what happens when you allow unqualified people to vote.

Same reason why they chose to alter Allstate voting rules this year. Can't let a bunch of fans decide the whole thing

Can't take all NBA votes seriously. Once you get down the list to 2nd and 3rd team votes. Big markets stars will always be voted in over smaller market stars. Journalists in bigger markets voting for their own interests

Unfortunately we have a bunch of Kravitzes the have been granted the power to cause
seismic shifts in the NBA landscape by directly affecting players' contract negotiations.
Nothing against Kravitz personally, but this should not be allowed and is a crock of BS.

What did Roy Hibbert say to the media after a playoff game when he was snubbed for Dpoy?

    "Ya'll mutha-f'ers don't watch us"

I wonder how much Benefit draymond green received from being on National TV at least once a week during the season?

It's interesting that Teague returning according to USA Today, plays a role in Paul re-signing or not. There is still a beyond good chance that Paul stays. Teague returning, and adding a talent like Hayward or Blake makes that chance even stronger. But it seems that again, according to USA Today via Hoopshype, re-signing Teague plays a critical part in Paul's decision.

No! You asked for proof, find your own damn proof that I am wrong. I have a great narrative going here. I won't derail the legitimacy of my rant for the sake of trying to back it up. Good lord is this the internet or a damn trial proceeding.

John Wall is much better than Draymond And Gobert, and is probably better than Derozan and Jordan. Kid is a bonafide superstar

But even so, calling someone the worst of the All NBA selections should never be looked at as a negative in any way

I wonder what would happen if the NBA had the referees be the ones who vote for these teams? Who sees the players more than them?

If nothing else, players might complain a bit less after every call.

There's no conspiracy. Writers rewarded guys for being on better teams.

I also know that PG would steal DeRozan's lunch money one-on-one.
All NBA is an individual award. Using team success, even if it's true and it is, is just one example of why the system is broken and is more of a Jr high student government popularity contest.

You know the NBA has more money than it knows what to do with when such dumb parameters like this exist.

    In your opinion.

Wall still has shooting problems when it counts and he is not the defender that Paul is.

So yes, yes he is better than Wall.

    In my opinion.

How do you do that when voting is anonymous?

Unless someone here has access to the ballots and can share them, you're asking for the impossible.

I know I'm in the minority but ive always HATED the DPE since it was introduced.

It's way too much of a financial incentive thats ultimately decided by others.

Also, I don't feel that a team should be able to put so much of an additional financial incentive on staying with a team. Not a level playing field at all.

Lastly, when giving a player (outside of Lebron) THAT much of a team's salary cap, you're only going to hamstring that franchise financially until said player is a FA again.

Ohh and by that time, the player will be ready to leave because they're tired of losing.

Its just a dumb overreaction to KD leaving OKC IMO.

DPE isn't dumb, imho. How they come up with qualifying for the DPE is. It would make more sense to come up with a point system based on production. Say you have to get twenty points, or whatever, and leading the team in scoring is worth 5. You can come up with point systems where players get points for team and league rankings. Throw some points in for league awards.

Being at the mercy of voting from the outside pretty much exclusively doesn't make much sense.

Voting isn't anonymous anymore. This is the fourth year of showing every voter's ballot. For example, here's last year's page with links to full voting results for every award:

    http://official.nba.com/2015-16-nba-...oting-results/

My guess is this year they won't put up the full results until after the awards show, but we'll have to see.

I don't mind the DPE and media voting. It was just REALLY bad timing when it came to the Pacers and Paul George. If Paul George didn't lose the one year due to the leg injury, this might have been a non-issue.

Remember when we could have gotten 1-2 solid players and a possible Top 3 draft pick in the 2017 NBA Draft by trading away Paul George?
