This is exactly what I hated about Lebron's first exit from Cleveland. At least that guy stayed away multiple years. I know it would be super beneficial for us, but I'd have a hard time feeling good about a team that was built that way.
If Paul takes the NBA max extension under the new CBA that would help the team. It would mean he gets mega-paid but at a bargain still because it's not the $207 mil all-nba extension. So the team would have money to add future pieces. The risk you run though is at some point, Paul might would want that all-nba extension. Like in the distant future. It all depends on how money hungry he is. Right now he wants to win. So if he signs a contract extension under the new CBA, whose to say he wouldn't want the All-NBA in 2021?
