Default Do we need to upgrade the Point Guard position?

I think AJ is more than a capable backup. But I wonder if we need someone else starting next year.

The wasy he has responded to pressure this playoff series I would say absolutely. Before this series I was perfectly happy with him. But he has been exposed as week mentally.

Can he overcome that? Sure, but it takes years of battleing the wars to do so. Do you wanna wait?

I think Tins is fine. He missed the last 3 months of the season, and like most guys, his legs were gone, and his shot was gone. Give him a break!

Beetlejuice on the other hand, shouldn't be playing. He has limited court vision, is way overrated defensively, and can get trapped by pressure defense. His only way of scoring is if someone else sets him up, and as a point guard, I want him to atleast be able to hook other players up with good shots, let alone himself.

GIVE EDDIE GILL MORE PLAYING TIME!

I don't know how we will get better, but Jamaal's shooting since coming back has disappointed.

he's never been a good shooter and the 3 month layoff due to injury has hurt him in that area. tonight our pg had a combined 19 assists and 3 turnovers. for the most part they did a solid job of running the show.

He was a good shooter before he lost his legs. In this series, he never took a jumpshot. Everything was a flat-footed three. It was almost always on target but short. That's a leg problem, and a solid summer of conditioning will fix it.
Welcome to Pacers Digest! New around here? Here are three tips for making the forum a great place to talk about Pacers basketball.

    • Log in. Even if you want to read instead of post, it's helpful because it lets you:
    • Change your signature options. You can hide all signatures by choosing "Settings" (top right) then "General Settings" (middle left) and unchecking the box "Show Signatures" (in the "Thread Display Options" area).
    • Create an ignore list. I know it may seem unneighborly. But you're here to talk about the Pacers, not argue with someone who's just looking for an argument. Most of the regular users on here make use (at least occasionally) of the "Ignore" feature. Just go to "Settings" -> "Edit Ignore List" and add the names.

    Enjoy your time at PD!

His FG% has gone up every year.

    01-02 .380

    02-03 .396

    03-04 .414

    04-05 .418

Not great, granted, but he's getting there.

Jackson only shot .403 this season, his lowest in 3 years & he is gonna be are starting SG next season.
