Kimmel deleted the "FUTURE LAKER" tweet.
Maybe PG's camp told him to remove it?

First time I've ever heard LA weather described as miserable. To each his own, as they say.
    Yeah.

I hate the weather there. HATE IT.

I don't mind the rare day of sun and hot weather. But I just love overcast skies, 70 degree (max) and down from there.

Humidity, stuffiness and "getting sun" just isn't my thing. I'm a cave dweller.

PG says he's close with Kevin Durant. Start the KD to Indy train.

For those who didn't watch the interview:

    - Kevin Durant is his closest friend in the league
    - PG and his dad got drunk the night when he got drafted
    - PG is working out with Kobe in the summer
    - Says he loves California and Indy
    - Talked about his shoes and how he has total input in the design

That did not make me feel better about him staying in Indy.

Jimmy: "Have you talked to Kobe about coming to the Lakers?"
    Paul: "Not yet"

That's was from memory, not verbatim.

It's a great deal for both sides. I just hope Pritchard is smart enough to make the move. Larry stepping down is an indicator it's coming IMO. Lakers top 3 pick + Randle, Nance, Clarkson & #28.

Top 3 pick = franchise player who will start
    Julius Randle = starting PF
Larry Nance Jr. = Athletic Jeff Foster who is a great bench piece & can start if need be. Rebounds*
Jordan Clarkson = gives us an actual backup point guard on a cheap long term deal. Can also start. Scores*
#28 - lot of options here.

I mean, I get that people want to see this deal or one like it done.

So we pray we don't get a bust with a top 3 pick, and then get a few young pieces in exchange for one of the best 2 way players in the league that the Cavs had to triple team in order to keep him from dropping 30 a game in the playoffs.

    Just an awful idea.

But hey, we're all entitled to our opinions.

Would you rather him walk & the Pacers be stuck with nothing to show for? I don't think we can afford to do that or take the risk. I would love for PG to sign long term but it hasn't happened & ive seen no signs of it happening. This interview didn't make me feel any better about him returning. His mind is on the Lakers.

He's so open about playing for the Lakers. Never seen anything like it. And he's about to work out with Kobe. Deal him tonight Pritchard.

Obviously not. That's a worst case scenario. But Paul is the type of player and talent that you might have to be willing to take that risk.

In the NBA era, the Pacers have only had Reggie and JO and to a much smaller degree (due to the team's he was on, usually) Danny who can even sniff Paul's jockstrap when he's locked in.

And I say this as a guy who worshipped Reggie since I was a little kid.

Sure, we could become the Lakers 2.0 - some talented, young, injury prone guys who MAY end up being great. Plus a draft pick that MAY end up being great. And we would probably have a similar record to the Lakers too...

But in my opinion... We have to try to keep the best player the franchise has ever had. And yes, it may lead to catastrophe. I acknowledge that.

Nothing to see here. I fully acknowledge that PG is likely to not be on our team anymore after this season, but this is in no way an indicator of that. He literally said Magic Johnson's overture's to him meant nothing, and that he loves Indy. On the flip side he said he hasn't talked to Kobe about coming to the Lakers....yet. But Kobe being a Lakers guy may bring the subject up. Nothing to really get from that. The whole thing was concluded with PG pimping his shoe which was the real reason why he was there. I'd like sales numbers on how many southern Californians are online buying the PG1 tonight. Literally all that interview was.

I reiterate that I don't expect PG to be here after this coming season, unless the team can make drastic changes. I believe he'll go wherever he has the best chance to win.

Total disrespect for our franchise, it's not even like he's a FA this offseason. Sick to my stomach. Just leave already

Wasn't as bad as the comments here indicate in my view but the most disturbing thing was him acknowledging that this is the 'nightmare' scenario for Indy folks.

I think PG could have said anything and people would blow it out of proportion, I didn't gather much from that. Seemed awkward at being asked even though he knew it was coming, I'm not going to lose my mind over some flippant "yet" getting thrown in there when asked about talking to Kobe. People were going to find something to nitpick ala "while I'm here"

PG sucks at public speaking man. He doesn't come off as dumb or anything, nothing like that, he just doesn't have much tact, it's all in the moment stuff w/o thinking about any long term effects of stuff he says.

I mean all I've seen is the snippet posted here but really if that is it then some of you guys need to take a xanax or something. He did not in anyway disrespect Indiana, our fans or our franchise. I got nothing from him that said he wanted to be a Laker, what I got from him was that he loves the Black Mamba and is really looking forward to working out with him.

Sure he may want to go to L.A. but to me that interview didn't say anything one way or the other.

really now? He inferred that he wanted to play for both. He loves LA and Indy. He is laughing about the interview with Magic. If he was a free agent I would not care. Hollywood George can go. He has had one foot out the door this year. Thanks Bird for that.

I dont blame George for wanting to leave but to play with this narrative while under contract with the Pacers is lame. Maybe he is being casual, like his game. But it does come across as being too playful with the idea.

This is only thr the start I am guessing. He will make it more obvious and burn bridges to leave here. Many here will want him traded to the degree of Artest when he asked to be moved.

PG said "not yet" when asked if he had talked to Mamba about joining the Lakers, and then said "I love Indy though" when Kimmel talked about it being a nightmare scenario for Pacers fans. PG's tone, delivery, and responses obviously confirm that there is some serious deliberation in his head about joining the Lakers. To me, I'd go so far as to say that's where he's leaning after watching this.
