Default 2017 Western Conference Finals: (1) Golden State vs. (2) San Antonio

Pretty crazy that these teams haven't crossed paths since 2013.

I picked the spurs to win it all before the playoffs started, so I'm sticking with my original pick. It really boils down to the health of...Steve Kerr. Yep. I went there. This will be a series where coaching really matters. The spurs are golden State's worst possible matchup. If they can breeze through this series, the cavs should be a cakewalk. I'm guessing they won't.

    Prediction: in 6.

It wasn't about being the team everyone loved, it was about beating the teams everyone else loved.

We have the two best teams going at it.

    Golden State in 6

I am not impressed with Houston at all. The Warriors are another kind of animal and the Spurs with a gimpy Kawhi are in trouble.
GS has bigs who can compete with Spurs bigs.

So much to consider here. Kerr is out indefinitely. Kawhi may not be 100%. Tony Parker is out. I just don't think anyone is stopping Golden State, but if anyone has a chance, it's the Spurs. Aldridge, Dedmon, Pau, and the rest are going to have to abuse the Warriors, and Pop will have to be Pop. For Golden State, if Curry, Thompson, and Durant keep shooting the lights out, they should be able to win the series, and shooting the lights out is what they do.

    Warriors in a tough 6.
It's a new day for Pacers Basketball.

Spurs in 6. It can't be Cleveland and GSW again. Three years in a row is hard to replicate. Spurs need to kill the super team concept.

Before the playoffs I picked the Dubs in 5. I see no reason to change that now.

Really hope I'm wrong, but I'm going with Warriors for the gentleman's sweep. Wouldn't surprise me if they have a clean sweep either.

I do think the Spurs have a better shot the longer the series goes. KD and Curry are known to not play at their best down the stretch of big playoff games

I have a hard time seeing Golden State losing, they are playing this year with a purpose. No nonsense from draymond green, and curry has cut down on his behind-the-back passes. Spurs don't have a lebron to will them to victory. Golden State in 6.

We'll see if San Antonio's system and Popovich can beat pure talent. While I would have rooted for San Antonio for years, that's recently changed. Go GS. I hope to see them step over LeBron. Really anyone, but Draymond talking smack at LeBron would be fine.
Lance is finally home. Whether he becomes our starting PG or he's 6th man, he's getting big minutes and he's here to stay. #llortontnia

Spurs in 6 I trust Pop in a coaching matchup vs Mike Brown.

Warriors in 6, think their talent is too much for the Spurs to handle...think Pop isn't going down without a little fight though.
"It's just unfortunate that we've been penalized so much this year and nothing has happened to the Pistons, the Palace or the city of Detroit," he said. "It's almost like it's always our fault. The league knows it. They should be ashamed of themselves to let the security be as lax as it is around here."

IDK. My money is with GS and their trifecta of triple shooting superstars. Think about it. We kind of gave the Cavs a little trouble. GS would destroy the Pacers. I find it difficult to believe they will not destroy the Cavs with that outside game. I know LeBron is good. He cannot guard Curry, Thompson and Durant. Also, Iggy and Draymond will be guarding him, both far better defenders than he faced against the Pacers and yes that includes Paul who cannot physically handle LeBron. Toronto never had a chance. They might as well be D league. GS is the real deal.

I don't care how good of a coach Poppavich is. Spurs aren't taking down Durant, Curry, Thompson, and Green. Just too good.

Mike Brown has coached stars in the past that didn't turn out well for him either. The Warriors appear better than those other teams though but in the end if it does come down to coaching Pop would best Mike Brown.

    Spurs in 6.
Larry Bird qouted March 25th. 2015:

Bird: I wanted to keep our group together because in the summer, if David and Roy opt out, we're back to zero, really. We don't have that much, so you leave your options open. If we did make a trade, I didn't want to take on a lot of contracts -- because that's what usually happens. Plus, I liked my guys. They're playing well. If we keep the core together and Paul comes back healthy, we'll be right back to where we were.

The Warriors losing this series presents the most interesting possible offseason. So Spurs in 6.

It would be another opportunity for LeBron to exorcise his demons (beat Popovich in the finals) and another opportunity to stake out his claim as the GOAT.

Although beating GS with Durant may well be more important for his legacy.

Personally, I want to see GS win it all. I do not want to see LeBron of all people to win another ring.

He's already beaten Popovich in the NBA Finals remember Ray Allen's 3 pointer?

    Beyond that I agree.

Id much much rather see Lebron or anyone outside of GS win it all.

I'd be super curious as to what they would do with that team moving forward (if anything of course). I haven't disliked a team this much since the Sprewell/Houston/Camby Knick teams
