Default Anyone heard anything about David Harrison?

During the shoot around at Game 4, I saw David come out dressed in some practice gear. I thought, "Yes! Maybe he's able to play now." He looked rusty, almost like it was his first time shooting around. He still worked up a pretty good sweat though...probally cause he's a lil chunky.

Either way, when he came over to sign autographs a lil convo formed:

    Me - "How's your knee?"

    DH - "It's better."

Me - "I can't wait to see you play next year."

DH - "I just can't wait to play."

2 things stuck out to me from this. 1.) His knee is getting better, but not close to where he or the Pacer Staff wants it. 2.) He's hungry to play. That could be said about any player right now during the play-offs, but still...with all that talk about his work ethic and such, I think they got it all wrong. He was out there shooting around for a good 20 minutes doing shooting drills.

THE BEST OF LUCK TO YA DAVID!

He can play about the same time Carlos Delfino can.

Default I still say this guy will makes us forget about Brad Miller...

Yeah, he can't play until next season.

Or, I'm sorry. He can't win most improved player until next season.

I know he can't play in the playoffs! Give me some credit.

I meant has anyone officially heard anything about his knee?

Last I heard from the medical staff they said he still had two knees. Other than that I don't think they know.

I say we trade the fool. He looks stupid behind the bench with his mohawk always smiling. He would appear to have no vested interest in the Pacers at all.

As you can tell I post normally on Indystar. Have lurked here since November. Are you telling me I will banned for making fun of the softest player on the team?
No, but perhaps someone should tell you the story of good ole' Johnny B.

You haven't said anything about Bender, for one. And banned just for making fun of Harrison? Hardly. But I imagine you're someone who's already been banned, so will get this name banned, or will end up saying something that violates the set up TOS.

If not, you're posts just won't show up on any screens because everyone will have you on ignore, so you'll end up talking to yourself. Either way, I say buh-bye.

Whether you've called anybody names or not, you've got to admit you've picked an interesting way to introduce yourself. You jump on va's case for his thread - now nobody likes redundant threads but just ask the admins to merge them, they do that all the time.

The you come into a thread about an inactive player and begin flaming away.

Nobody's sure what to think, yet. But it ain't looking good.

    Like I said real class.
When you come in, just to stir the pot, don't complain that it gets stirred.

Coming in flaming the way you have, then stating your from the star forums only shows that you're here after their thread on PD.

I post on the Star just as much as I post on here, and I can say that JOneal7 and Sassan have no room to complain. They were fun to have around, but took a dive quickly. Once you're warned, and continue to messup I have no sympathy for them, or should I say you?

-snip-.....not to mention his comments about my hometown. The dude is immature and not a cog in the Pacers engine. I think he would better serve us as trade fodder than playing.

    Okay, here's your chance.

I don't know what you're talking about (comments about your hometown) and I don't agree with you about his future with the Pacers.

Harrison's got a legit NBA body, he can carve out position in the paint. His hands are soft (unlike Dale, Jeff, and Scot), but they're small. He's shown a tendency to block out and help the team's rebounding even though he doesn't grab as many as we'd like. He's got a nice jump hook and other post moves. And in the East, that's enough to make him a top-five center in a year or two.

    So explain yourself.

Cant find a legit source now but found this on Pacer Nation. It was in several articles I remember. "Multiple sources claim that rookie center David Harrison was recently seen at an Indy nightclub stating he wishes he was traded because Indy is “too boring.”"

    poor conditioning.
    questionable work ethic.
appears to be telling jokes rather than showing support.
Has potential but has regressed since the stars have returned even when given playing time.

    All this = trade bait

    IMHO of course.
    Thanks,

I'm concerned about his regressing, and God knows all these young guys and thier immaturity drives me batty, but I'd give him at least one more season before I even began thinking about writing him off.

And by the way, if you post like that, you'll be fine.

I've never once saw an article saying that, only posters. You think a guy that grew up in Nashville, then went to college in Boulder CO would complain about being bored in a city?

Harrison was in great condition, he just couldn't play because he was always in foul trouble.

When JO returned, that moved him down to the 3rd option off the bench. Pollard gets more PT than him, and when DD came in the picture he got even less. To say that he regressed when you don't watch practices and only see him play 3mins every 5th game or so isn't basing an opinion on much evidence, only biasness.

In addition, when you want to trade someone you talk them up, not down. You want to get as much as you can out of a player you're trading, and by bad mouthing him only lowers his value.

I don't think he has regressed. When he returned from his concussion, he was much more adept at catching the ball, and rebounded pretty stong when he got playing time.

You also must keep in mind his knee was hurt pretty soon after he returned.

As for work ethic, what evidence do you have that he has a questionable work ethic, besides what the college draft analysts had to say? He lost some weight between the draft and the season, and I don't think he has slacked off any in his pro career...

As for telling jokes... he may be laid-back off the court, but when he plays, he plays tough and aggressive. I really don't know why his off-court demeanor would be such a concern...

The coaching staff had nothing but praise for David's work ethic since the post draft time period. EVERYBODY gets soft when they have a hurt LEG and can't BE ON IT or exercise fully.
Give him a break, he's going to be a steal for us.
And be the big body that free's up Jermaine.

I am of the opinion that if a player doesnt want to be here......well you know the saying.

Probably explains my evergrowing patience with Bender and my lack thereof with Harrison. He should count himself lucky to be on a championship caliber team in his rookie season, yet he opens his mouth and out spews ignorance. I wish we could have Primoz back
You're basing this completely off anecdotal evidence, and its a rather harsh accusation. And did I just read that you are gaining more patience with Bender?

Soup, as my fellow DH lover,

the regressing I'm concerned about isn't skill-related, but conditioning related.

But conditioning is always a big struggle for a rookie. There were lots of people ready to give up on Tinsley during his first two years for the exact same reason. And I'm glad we didn't. Patience.
