Well, crap. LedZep was one of those posters that I always felt somehow connected to. He and I had very different backgrounds, but the more I read of his and the more we discussed I found we agreed on many, many things at a fundemental level.

He will be missed. My condolences to his loved ones.

We jabbed, we laughed, he was an asset to this board, as he must have been for his close friends and family, his attitude made him a very big asset.

At times like this a forum is closer to the real world then ever, and humanity closer to being human.

He will be missed, by all of us and more so by his kin and friends, may each find the strength to deal with this loss.

Damn! That's truly sad and indeed puts things into perspective. My condoleances to his friends, family and loved ones.

Oh, man. Not the kind of news I ever look for.

    My sympathies to his family.

Able, how about an "In Memorium" section of the PD site? Maybe cull through some of his posts to put up a few of the best? And get permission to attach his real name to it - could make a good memorial for as long as the site lasts (and, given search engine memory, that could be a long time ...)

I haven't posted in this thread because I am always nervous and choked-up-like around those that have lost someone. I've never really known how to handle those situations, and I'm always afraid I'll end up looking like an idiot and just add to the person's misery.

Let me just speak in all honesty.

Reading this thread made me incredibly sad. I didn't know Mr. Duran. I could not feel more sympathetic for his family and those that knew him.

I didn't know LZC well, but I knew him well enough to know that we will miss him.

Presumably, he had the same affect on those that knew him in the real world, too.

My condoleneces to his family and friends.
Why do the things that we treasure most, slip away in time
Till to the music we grow deaf, to God's beauty blind
Why do the things that connect us slowly pull us apart?
Till we fall away in our own darkness, a stranger to our own hearts
And life itself, rushing over me
Life itself, the wind in black elms,
Life itself in your heart and in your eyes, I can't make it without you

For some reason I hadn't read this thread until just now.

Terrible news. I never spoke with him, but I rememeber his posts well. Everyone else said it well, if nothing else he was incredibly passionate fan and seemed like a good guy.

Really, doesn't seem like there's anything I can say.

Here's a link to the CrankyColts.com thread about Zep. The page I linked has comments made by his daughter and wife. They posted under his name.

I didn't have a chance to know him, but he sounds like a great fan of Indy sports. His passing will be a loss to this board and to rats as his contributions will surely be missed. My condolences to his family and friends.

    Rest in Peace

This is terrible news. I remember LZC from the IndyStar days before the "Dark Times" and the great migration led by Hicks.

He had a good sense of humor and despite being a Lakers homer, he knew his basketball. I say that completely tongue-in-cheek, BTW.

He was a funny guy and he'll be missed. My condolences to his wife and family.

Larry is not coming back, he didn't have a meeting with Orlando for not reason, yeah he is coming back to the NBA but not to the Pacers, the notion that he is a taking a year off and then come back is absurd.

This is extremely sad news. I had some heated, but good arguments with him.

Plus, in the back of my mind I always held out hope that he might be able to draw PFFL back - at one time they communicated with one another quite a bit.

    Not good.

LedZep....I remember his prime days on the Star News forums. He had that unique ability to get under people's skin! But it was all good. He shot straight from the hip and I loved reading his posts!

    Wow.

I just saw this thread and seeing as how I just poured this drink.....THIS ONE'S FOR YOU LEDZEP! Peace to you, I know you be watching these playoffs out there somewhere. Just tell the big man to give the blue & gold a little lift.

I just want to add my condolences to LedZep's family. Over time as we
communicate with each other on this and other forums we in some ways become part of a family. When we lose someone from that family we all feel the pain.

When people pass away, I like to remember them for things they added to life. One of the funniest things I remember debating with Zep is great Rock and Roll guitarists. He went out of his way to show me how easy it was to play "Crazy Train" by sending me an example of how to play it. I would go back at him by giving him a link to Randy Rhoades classic piece "Dee."

We never gave up our opinions, but I do think we respected each other at the end of the day. He could flame, but when I would play nice so would he. What a sad day for his family. May God grant them peace in his passing.
