Part of the reason last year's series went 7 games was coaching. Part of the reason this series is going to be a sweep is coaching.
But far superior to that in importance is Lebron James.

Last year's team would have been stomped by the Cavs just like this year's team, while I firmly believe that this year's team could go toe to toe with Toronto.

His *** should be Tinsley'd for that ****.
I can understand if LeBron had already taken off, and he was under the rim for being a pansy.... but there was enough time, where he could've at least tried to draw the charge or at least fouled LeBron before getting to the rim. That to me shows no fight, and it's the wrong basketball play as you're always taught to stop ball first in transition.

I just firmly disagree. This team should be more competitive in this series and they should have been more competitive all year.

To me Nate is just that bad.

It's not even about whether Vogel was good or not, it's about how bad Nate is.

I agree...take it up with Bird.
I agree, the lack of quality vets and the putrid decision to replace Vogel with Nate should be grounds for termination.

I do think we could compete against any other East team, but that's because PG is so great and the rest of the East is so weak.

The entire 4th quarter the thought just kept pounding in my head that Nate McMillan got this job without even an interview taking place.

Pacers cheaped out and got exactly what they paid for. A career .500 coach who has one playoff series win in 12 years as a head coach before this season.

I like Vogel and would have preferred he stayed, but I could have listened to arguments as to why it was time to move on from him.

To me, the horrific decision was promoting McMillan with no external coaching search. We had PG and have been a pretty successful franchise over the last 25 years. Some quality candidates would have been interested. I want Bird gone for the sole reason that he didn't conduct a legit coaching search last year.

How did it feel to watch your boy **** the bed like a 2 year old with the flu tonight?

Watching Monta run away from Lebron like he was a weapon of mass destruction was truly my favorite part of the second half. What a fake *** dude Monta is.

Frank Vogel would have yanked Monta off the floor after that ********.

I just think it's hilarious that Vnzla still doesn't get it's not really about Vogel. It's about what a joke the process of hiring Nate McMillan was.

    Bird held Vogel accountable.

Who holds Bird accountable? That's the problem with the franchise. We never hold GM's feet to the fire.

If someone other than Bird was conducting the coaching search perhaps.

So when he is going to hold Nate accountable for playing guys who LITERALLY run away from opposing player like little girls instead of playing defense?

Eh D'Antoni wouldn't be great either his teams still don't play defense which you need to win championships but if he has a legit PG at least his teams can be entertaining to watch.

I said this earlier this season and danced around some hurled feces flung my way, but I legit think JOB would do a better job coaching this particular team than Nate McMillan.

I'm thinking PG gets traded and Bird starts another 3 year process with Nate as the coach.

His contract is up in 2018 unless he's traded before then which I highly doubt but you never know.

As one of Monta's harshest critics I think you are being too harsh on him. He had two options. Guard LeBron going for a dunk or defend the three point shot. If he chose LeBron the two most likely results would be a pass to a wide open Korver, who would make the three, or Monta gets a foul called on him while LeBron gets an And-1 opportunity. On the flip side if he defended against the three the most likely outcome was LeBron dunking, only scoring 2 points instead of 3. Strategically I actually think he made the right decision. It might be the more embarrassing one, but it is the one with the highest probability of the most advantageous result.
