I dont agree. When your offense is relegated to "hold the ball for 18 seconds then run something" no one can succeed.

Now I guess you can argue he should have stepped up and been more aggressive.

I just cant put this one on one players. Its on the whole team. and a LOT of it is on the coaches
I agree with you, there is plenty of blame to go around. It's not all on PG. BUT, I don't think he was aggressive enough in the 3rd.

IF you lose 3 straight close playoff games, do you think that is maybe a coaching issue?
At this point, I would have to agree. If it was a talent issue, they would have blown us out by now. They might do it in the 4th game, because the Pacers are feeling crushed at the moment.

Remember when we could have gotten 1-2 solid players and a possible Top 3 draft pick in the 2017 NBA Draft by trading away Paul George?

WTF. So because he never won a NBA championship he never won anything? I call BS.

It does sucks he didnt get the calls tonight. However, I would prefer he use it as positive energy

He won games every player has but he didn't win a championship. He was at least close something I don't see Paul George doing here at least.

People here say Reggie is the standard but at the end of the day he didn't win anything and that's what people are judging Paul George by and its why he will leave in 2018. If he wants a ring he knows it won't happen here.

He can't even get calls in his own building.

This one wasn't a really a close playoff loss.
Maybe the score looks that way, but the reality is that Cleveland 'rocked' the Pacers in the 2nd half. It was a 2nd half blowout.
Nuntius was right for a while. I was wrong for a while. But ultimately I was right and Frank Vogel has been let go.

I knew how this was going to go when I wasn't mad at the calls in the first half. My son said "Looks like we might win" and I said "Nah. We're gonna get a lot of tough calls in the third to bring this closer."

Yeah we sucked in the second half but we still made a couple runs to get back in and get going again. Each of those attempts were cut short by the refs. Am I whining? Of course. But it's still the truth.

But we blew them out in the first half...

Not to go off topic but not every player has made a NBA finals.

Regardless, it will suck to see the organization have to rebuild if that happens.

    A few silver linings:

    - not sure why I'm not really mad... it was just almost fascinating to watch.
    - 3rd quarter... several key offensive plays went through the shot clock because Paul was having to scramble to retain the ball with his arms getting slapped by multiple Cavs. Say what you want, but the refs changed the game to allow the comeback.
    - Story of our 2016-2017 Pacers... play coming out of a crucial timeout... 24 second violation.

    - Biggest silver lining of all: Peck dropping the MOAOT on us tomorrow: Mother of All Odd Thoughts!
"I mean, you'd walk into our dressing room and run into Mel Daniels holding a .45 -- it makes you wonder."

I would argue we blew them out in the first half, thus making it a close game when they came up.

Pacers rocked then first half, Cavs rocked the Pacers second half (rocked....more like devastated)

If the Cavs can bench Love and Irving, why can't we bench Myles?

True but nobody uses them as the standard like people do with Reggie.

It's a shame the Cavs didn't let us borrow some of their all-stars resting on the bench.

My favourite part was the bit when Nate forgot we had Jeff Teague on the roster.

We at least got to see the Colts win an SB

And the Hoosiers won 5 championships (in basketball)

The Pacers won but I wasn't alive.
I consider the Colts a miracle win. Like a gift from God. The last time the Hoosiers won it I was 3 and they did go undefeated but it is hard to accept that because the first year I became a fan they lost to Maryland. No luck for the Hoosiers since. Is an ABA championship really the equivalent of a modern NBA championship? Even if it was I became a fan in 93 and have witnessed nothing but superstar calls and bad luck against the top players for years.

I'm starting to think everything is fixed or we are cursed. Too many great Indiana teams just choke it away and never win it all.

The fixed part might be more accurate with sports being about $$$$ and all.

Anyone really think the Finals will have teams other than the Cavs/Warriors?!

    Sure.

(I don't think the ABA championship is the equivalent at least in my lifetime but it exists and I can't dismiss that either)

Even the Fever won a WNBA championship.

Refs made sure in 3rd Q that Cleveland would get back into game. Cleveland was allowed to mug us. Lol at the Frye missed 3 foul. NBA is a disgrace. Fans that pay money deserve better

Just do what I do. Set low expectations and you can never really be let down when they lose.

I suppose I was hoping for him to carry us. It looked like most the 4th quarter he didn't want the ball. Idk if he was tired or what, but he was not aggressive enough to get the ball his hands. He was content standing in the corner in the 4th quarter and letting others control the ball. There is obviously plenty of blame to go around but c'mon Paul you are our guy and you need to carry us at the end of the game.

I think he will come out in this post-game and take the blame upon himself this time.
