The problem is, I'm not sure Paul's intensity level that he brought late in the season and always in the playoffs is sustainable for an entire 82 game season.
Reggie Miller certainly didn't keep the same level of intensity during the regular season that he did for the playoffs, and in general Reggie was applauded for that.

I disagree that he was applauded - an awful lot of people used it as proof Reggie would never be considered a "great" player, and many used it as reasons to discuss why we'd be better off without him (until we got to the playoffs, when everyone was behind him 100%, of course).

I think we gloss over memories of those years with rose-colored paint and forget how much criticism Reggie used to get - some of it very similar to what Paul gets.

Or throw in a first-round pick and flip it for a max-level point guard...

    It seems unfair though.

Everyone says 'Reggie takes his game up in the playoffs', but so does Paul. It's just Paul gets the label for being an underachiever.

I will back Bill up on this. Why, I was one of those very posters doing it. In fact it was the entire basis of the Core team vs RAS team online feud from the late 90's (started in 95 and went to 99)
