I don't think that pass ever gets there. To keep it away from the two interior defenders, you have to throw it essentially over LeBron's arm, and that's going to create arc that allow one of those two defenders to step in front. Or you have to try a low hard pass that hopefully doesn't get deflected on the way.

LeBron can make that pass, but not many other people can. Maybe it should be tried because if it gets there it's really valuable, but it's a high risk pass.

PG and Lance will show up big. Teague, Thad, and Seraphim will be solid. Myles will try to be aggressive but won't hit anything from the outside. Monta will generally suck and C.J. will suck at the end of games when it matters.
My comment in the prediction thread wasn't correct. C.J. sucked the earlier part of the game as well.

Even playoff Paul and good Lance is not enough. This team just isn't born ready...

    Take it to the hoop.
Seriously. Why we don't get some kind of action going to the hoop in that sequence, including the final shot is beyond me... actually, not beyond me - it's simply bad coaching.

Just leaves a bad taste in your mouth losing on a CJ shot instead of Paul. Hard to give him too much flack though he did catch the ball with very little time remaining

Well we know one thing: Nate certainly doesn't up his coaching game in the playoffs. Oh wait, he's had over a decade of being a mediocre coach so we already knew that.

Easy to say that snapshot looks bad but anyone who has played knows the timing of Lance coming open and the timing of PG being able to gather and make a pass over the top may not have lined up.

Do think PG neded to fight through at least one more dribble and try to make the Cavaliers commit to a rotation instead of just lobbing it over the top of the double to CJ

Lance should start and be playing 30 MPG imo.
I like him from the bench. Let him give guys a breather and work his little two man game with Seraphin. Lance is playing really well right now, but he's also in a situation where he can be Lance for a solid amount of time during the game.

My God that's brutal to look at.
Reverse the players and I think Lance can make that pass to Paul. Not sure Paul could thread that in there to Lance between/over two defenders and with a defender already looking that way along the baseline.
So not sure it's really a fair look when take in context of reality.
Nuntius was right for a while. I was wrong for a while. But ultimately I was right and Frank Vogel has been let go.

Lance ended the game. That's all I can ask from Nate.

I'd feel okay about that lose if Paul George takes the last shot. Even with two people on him.
Not me, but I do agree we should have taken it to the hoop or maybe a Lance drive and kick.

Have Monta or Lance instead of CJ and they get a layup vs old a** Jefferson, the layup was right there..
Dude.. He's old, but very athletic lmao. That's why they have him in there. Old a** Jefferson is a better player than Ellis, and I like Monta enough.

I like Lance off the bench and finishing games ALA Manu.

But when he's in the game, Teague needs to spread the floor. Pacers offense looked best with Lance running it IMO. His size allows him to make plays

Hmm have the final shot to win the game--don't really think you can get any better chance than that.

Even better. Make PG catch and shoot threat in that situation off some Lance or Teague action

That would make too much sense.

I know everyone thinks that's an easy pass, but it's also a long pass with no clear lane, and you have LeBron bouncing up and down and guys like Tristan Thompson who could always deflect near Lance.

Pacers needed to run someone to the top of the key or flash the middle.

Problem is, once we knew LeBron was going to flash on the double team, we didn't have a timeout to make any adjustments. I agree with Van Gundy (although it's easy in retrospect) that a timeout shouldn't have been called because it really screwed us both ways.
