Default 2017 NBA Playoffs: (4) Washington vs. (5) Atlanta

A rematch of a great 2nd round series a couple years back, which Washington was actually on the verge of winning had they not lost John wall to injury. I think this is Washington's time to challenge for the east.

    Prediction: in 5

It wasn't about being the team everyone loved, it was about beating the teams everyone else loved.

Washington feels like they've been very under-the-radar all year. Taking the Wiz in 6 games.
It's a new day for Pacers Basketball.

Atlanta is hot right now, with that said, I'll take Wizards in 7. John Wall will abuse Schroeder all series.

Wizards in 7, think this will be a close series.
"It's just unfortunate that we've been penalized so much this year and nothing has happened to the Pistons, the Palace or the city of Detroit," he said. "It's almost like it's always our fault. The league knows it. They should be ashamed of themselves to let the security be as lax as it is around here."

Scott Brooks might be a decent coach after all.

Prince is showing the beauty of draft picks. He is already an ok starter in NBA playoffs, but there is 3 more years left at 2-3 million per year.

I understand that they were win-NOW (totally failed) moves, but starting from next season the comparison between having Teague+Thad for 35 million per year compared to Prince+LaVert for less than 5 million doesn't necessarily look too rosy for us. Not after figuring in that extra max.monye player we could have had with savings of keeping the picks.

And yes, there is NO reason to think we would have needed to involve Hawks instead of making a straight-up GHill for #12 trade with Jazz.

Season over for Atlanta, good luck in overpaying Milsap together with already overpaid players in Bazemore/Howard, damn.

Dwight Howard cited for speeding, has car towed on night Hawks eliminated

Well, that was a crappy day.

Back on April 28, the Washington Wizards went into Atlanta and beat the Hawks, ending Atlantaís playoff run and season. Dwight Howard had an uninspiring nine points, seven rebounds, and five turnovers. After the game, he was frustrated about how he was being used. Or something.

He decided to get those frustrations out with a long, fast drive. Except, that didnít go so well either, reports the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Just a few hours after that loss, Howard was pulled over by police in Dunwoody. A few minutes later, an officer had the eight-time NBA All-Starís car towed.

A police report states that Howard, 31, was pulled over for speeding in the wee hours of the morning on April 29. Police found that he was driving on a suspended registration and without insurance.

    Ouch.

Howard got off fairly lightly for going 95 in a 65 zone, according to the report the AJC saw. Howard was given a ticket for not having insurance but a verbal warning for speeding and the lack of registration. The vehicle was towed, Howard got in the black SUV of his bodyguard (who had followed Howard while he was driving/speeding).

Itís going to be an interesting off-season for Howard, who has two-years and $47 million left on his contract. Depending on who the new head of basketball operations for the Hawks turns out to be, and what direction he takes the roster, Howard could find himself on the trade block. Not that he would fetch much, as the playoffs showed the game is moving in a direction that doesnít fit with Howardís game anymore.

He got pretty lucky. I've had to bail out friends more than once in Atlanta who got a double whammy of expired plates and no insurance. I'd have thought suspended license + no insurance + reckless driving level of speeding violation would mean a night in the pokey.

Or throw in a first-round pick and flip it for a max-level point guard...
