Default 2017 NBA Playoffs: (3) Houston vs. (6) Oklahoma City

God this should be awesome. The top two 2 MVP candidates in the first round. ABC should televise every game. I don't care if one is at 10PM on a Tuesday. Agents of Shield can wait its turn.

Houston should win this. Not a guarantee, but they should. OKC is the most one man band the league has seen in decades, and Harden has a lot more firepower around him. This should be a lot of fun nontheless. Russ vs his old padawan is going to be a lot of fun. At least one of them is going to drop a 50-burger.

    Prediction: in 7

It wasn't about being the team everyone loved, it was about beating the teams everyone else loved.

Going to be the most entertaining series in the whole post-season, most likely. Gonna pick OKC in this one because Westbrook is just insane. Yes, Harden is too, but I think Westbrook wills OKC to an upset victory.

D'Antoni teams have had their struggles against size and a great player or two before.. I'm gonna go with my mancrush Westbrook on this one.

I think the record for points in a playoff game will be broken this year, with this series as a strong candidate.

in the 10 games westbrook has shot the least .. OKC has their highest winning percentage. he's not the mvp.

harden wins this series and the mvp

I don't feel strongly either way about who gets the MVP, but this is easily one of the worst arguments I've ever seen. The reason why they have such a high win percentage is because those games are lopsided blowouts and therefore there is no point in playing Westbrook heavy minutes or getting a ton of usage when the game is already in hand early...

OKC in 6...think Russ will prevail against Harden or I at least want him to lol. Not sure if D'Antoni's system will work in playoffs.
"It's just unfortunate that we've been penalized so much this year and nothing has happened to the Pistons, the Palace or the city of Detroit," he said. "It's almost like it's always our fault. The league knows it. They should be ashamed of themselves to let the security be as lax as it is around here."

No matter how the east shakes out, this should be the hardest to call 1st round series. I'm going with OKC in 7.

Matchups like these are what make the playoffs so exciting.

Houston should win, and probably win easily. If OKC can pound the boards they have a chance. Ohh they also have that Russ guy.

Sentimentally I'm going to go with OKC in 7 in spite of the fact that Houston is much deeper

Houston averaged over 40 threes per game for the season, that is disgusting. Almost every team increased the use of the 3 once again this year.
I hate the way Houston plays and I really hope they're swept but I'd be happy to see OKC in 6 or 7.
Larry Bird qouted March 25th. 2015:

Bird: I wanted to keep our group together because in the summer, if David and Roy opt out, we're back to zero, really. We don't have that much, so you leave your options open. If we did make a trade, I didn't want to take on a lot of contracts -- because that's what usually happens. Plus, I liked my guys. They're playing well. If we keep the core together and Paul comes back healthy, we'll be right back to where we were.
