Al Jefferson has a team option on the final year of his 3-year contract, so really he's an expiring contract next season and will be easier to move.

PG + Big Al = $28 million in expiring deals...should bring back a haul if included in June.

Why would anyone give up anything of value for PG? He has made it known that he is most likely signing with the Lakers in the summer of 2018.

Mason Hankins for 8.9 urges us to look at Terrence Jones. Looks like a steal. Why not? Can we get him? Does he have a better landing spot?

I think if the offer is big enough they can't match. Remember they're paying Wall, Beal, payed Mahinmi last Summer. Gortat is still there and if Bogdanovic works out they'd have to pay him this Summer also. If the offer is big enough they'd have to go deep into the tax to pay Porter. As for the Pistons with Jackson and Drummond already on the pay roll for big bucks, they can't match KCP a major offer unless they move one of those guys.
Otto's max offer will be 25 % of the cap. I believe Wizs will pay that for him and rather look to move Beal... If they pay Porter and don't deduct any other salaries, they will be in luxury tax but only minimally.

Bigger question, I believe, is Hayward or Butler the kind of players that will allow PG to remain the face of the Pacers without being rubbed raw by his need to be the "Star"? There has to be so e pecking order for leadership on a good team. That does not mean the best player or most well known has to be that Leader. Would another all star caliber player cause the locker room problems we saw with the emerance of PG, Roy and Lance after we lost the quiet leadership of Granger?

In my opinion, Bird will pursue Redick and Gallinari.

I don't think there are any "name" free agents that we can lure here.

I'm probably alone but I would love to pick up Jennings. I think our offense can struggle at times since we only have one playable Point Guard on the roster.

I am fairly certain that there is someone else on PD that would have zero problem picking up Jennings << cough GRIMP cough>>

I thinl that Terrence Jones would be a good move to make...on paper. But there's a part of me that wants to give any backup minutes in the Frontcourt to XMas.

Jennings never recovered from the Achilles tear. His numbers are almost all career lows. Quickness is gone. Doesn't defend.

I say no to Jennings...yes to Jones. Christmas has been playing backup Center...keep him there.

Admittedly the only Knicks games I have watched this year have been against the Bulls and Pacers. He looked quite a bit better than Brooks in those games but that isn't saying much.

To be fair it takes about a year or two to recover from that and he is on year 1?

No. Remember, Jennings has bad blood with Joe Young. The last thing we need is "that" sort of situation.

Reddick is old and fading. He wouldn't be a bad get for the bench but we need a young dynamic starting SG who fits age wise with our other starters. Gallo is hurt most of the time. He's gonna want major money too. Pass.

No the issue with that was Lance. Lance leaving for Charlotte shows he thought he was "king." Didn't work out that way. Paul/Roy/G. Hill got along fine.

And just to be clear, I'm talking about Jennings on a minimum salary for the remainder of the year. Not signing him as a free agent in the offseason. Can't imagine he would give us less than Brooks for the rest of the season.

Wouldn't be any different than signing Ty Lawson last season.

Probably true. I just die a little inside wondering if we are going to use Stuck or Monta at point when Teague is off the floor.

    I don't want Jennings.....for various reasons.....but we are talking about Buckets....not PG13 or Teague.

If there is a situation where the Team is interested in pursuing a Player that could improve the prospects off the Team and has an issue with a younger Players that is buried at the end of the bench, then Bird simply tell that younger Player to bury the hatchet and move on.

Be a professional, suck it up and understand that this is a Team and Business....not some family dinner.

Isn't Joe related to PG though?

How would you guys feel about signing Kyle Korver and Nick Young this Summer? Both are in their 30's. Nick 31, Kyle 35. I imagine they'd come cheap no? Nick will most likely opt out of his contract this Summer. Right now he makes $5.4 million. I imagine a contract of $10 mil per year for 3 years, team option on year 3 would be sufficient. As for Korver at 35 he makes $5.2 million right now. I think a deal of $9 mil per year for two years would work.

If Nick doesn't opt out this Summer of his Lakers deal it's a trade Larry should make. At $5.4 for one year, having a shooter/scorer of his caliber would be a good get. Off the bench you could still swing another deal for an Alan Crabbe or someone like that.
