So is getting a Top 3 pick and young promising assets.
On cheap long term rookie deals. And then you can resign them again as RFA's. I don't get it man.

Bird has been a comedy of errors when it comes to personnel in the last few years. I'm glad Paul is being as patient as he is and not publicly throwing Bird under the bus really.

I guess you and I are alone on this trade, lol.

Remember when we could have gotten 1-2 solid players and a possible Top 3 draft pick in the 2017 NBA Draft by trading away Paul George?

If PG wants to stay, he might want to start giving the effort like he wants to stay.

I think it's pretty clear- Bird has a season and a half to make the Pacer's a championship contending team or Paul isn't resigning.
"We've got to be very clear about this. We don't want our players hanging around with murderers," said Larry Bird, Pacers president.

He has 30 million reasons to stay that looks like his motivation.

A lot of talk and a hell of a lot of noise in this thread.

This is what I think I've actually learned:

    1) Paul wants to stay here. He is not angling to leave the team.
    2) He's made it pretty clear that he understands it's his job to turn this team around, as he's the leader.
    3) The front office is seeing what his value is around the league.

All of that is pretty reassuring. Basically, if they can get better, the Pacers are open to trading him. But they're not trading him because they feel held hostage by him.

He freaking knows that a lot of incentive is on the line for him to start being an awesome leader (the supermax).

Now, let's see if he earns it. Because if he doesn't live up to his leadership role, he's on his way out of Indy.

All of you folks criticizing the front office for it's moves over the past years have failed to compare and contrast the moves of just about every other team in the NBA. It's almost freaking impossible to bat 1.000

I think Bird wants to show PG we're going to contend, he may want to hire a new coach before anything
"So, which one of you guys is going to come in second?" - Larry Bird before the 3 point contest. He won.

Don't follow. He will be traded this offseason if he doesn't deliver the rest of this season. That's almost a guarantee at this point.

I feel l like he is starting to get more comfortable with the injury, but yes more effort would be awesome... I really wish we could have paired PG with Jimmy and build a team around those two, Turner is nice, but I would rather at this point build a team around those two.
    Why so SERIOUS

This is pre trade deadline click bait. The Celtics called and the Pacers listened. That doesn't imply that any deal is going to happen. The sensible thing to do is inquire around the draft if the Celtics have a top 2 pick. I would prefer Phoenix with a deal with Booker and their pick if it's top two.

"Tough and gritty". He must want Lance.

"Between us and the front office". Ah! They are working with him and a trade is possible. If it was "no doubt he's going to stay", he wouldn't say that. IMO this indicates they have talked with him about being traded.

PG hasn't been inspiring this year, but we forget how good he always plays in the playoffs. It's hard to replace a prime time performer.

If someone was only seeing the closed captioning on that video, and not hearing the audio, they would get absolutely dizzy trying to figure out what the heck was being discussed.

    It really is that bad.

Paul George left BLF today dressed like a ninja.

What does it mean? **** if I know. (but if IMPD starts rolling up on captured criminals talking about getting jumped by a very tall ninja, I know where my money is going)

It kind of meandered and he seemed tired of answering questions. I don't blame him. I think the bottom line is that he's on the trading block, he knows it, has discussed it with the front office and may or may not be traded. I don't think the Pacers will contend any time soon, Paul knows that, the front office knows that and they will lose Paul for nothing if he isn't traded. So they are working the phones hard as they should.

Agreed but he's barely putting postage on the game he's mailing in. Dude is checked out this year. Too many of his effort stats are down for that to not be true or he's just regressing which I doubt.
