I can understand a Michigan State guy thinking this....but Duke?

OK, maybe it's because Kyrie never graduated?

The moon is also flat. And sometimes they only turn on half their lights on the moon.
So does that mean you need a flat butt to moon people?

I don't know about you, but I learned the earth was round well before college.

You will have to find those verses for me. As far as all eyes seeing him even a flat surface does not allow that. I am confident God can make himself visible to every single person if he wants to. God gave us a mind to evaluate his creation using logic to the best of our ability, ie science
    What about images from space???

Don't forget that we have also never been to the moon because the landing was fake as well.

The issue isn't about that. I think you're putting too high of a standard on an NBA player. Some of the guys on this board are highly educated, thoughtful people, many of whom likely work at very analytical type jobs. They've worked that muscle for years. Many if not most of Kyrie's peers spend most of their free time playing video games and partying. Just the very fact that he's thinking about larger issues is a victory, in my opinion. He's got it wrong, but over time he's likely to get it right.

My point is that his thinking, in general, and his asking questions, while on the wrong track (and making him look a little foolish, admittedly) ought not to be greeted with so much scorn. "Question more" should be the motto in our culture, not march in lockstep to everything handed to you.

He is not at the moment thinking clearly. But he's thinking. He's made a run for the wall, don't shoot him down. Grab him without killing him.

edit: not everyone has reacted with scorn. I think you've just been pointing out the obvious, which I think is appropriate.
I don't agree. I don't think this line of thinking leads to further insights. Confidently grasping the wrong path just because it's different shows more the lack of critical thinking than the start of it, in my opinion.

And FWIW I don't think basketball players are particularly dumb. So yeah I'm not going to give credit just for thinking different, different doesn't always mean better. YMMV.

I question if Rakeem Christmas is actually the best player on the Pacers. I mean, think about it, he averaged 17.5 points per game for a season at Syracuse. That's more than Paul George ever averaged at Fresno State, a mid-major! Clearly there is a conspiracy by the Pacers organization to keep Christmas from succeeding!

Agreed. It's a war against Christmas.

Would you eat the moon if it were made of cheese?
"It's just unfortunate that we've been penalized so much this year and nothing has happened to the Pistons, the Palace or the city of Detroit," he said. "It's almost like it's always our fault. The league knows it. They should be ashamed of themselves to let the security be as lax as it is around here."

I read over the pages you posted and first off round or circle does not automatically mean a globe shape. Frisbees, coins, a cake or pie, a table etc are all round or circular in shape so round or circle doesn't automatically mean ball, globe round.

Either way the topic is not going to grant us Salvation...... obedience to Our Father's Word will.

If thread were actually a bunch of people having a conversation in a room, this is probably the point in time where the discussion would grind to a quick halt and everyone would give Sport a sort of weird side eye as they drifted away from him.

"Yea alright buddy, yea... cool, ok well, we gotta go now..."

Oh lordy. Reminds me of some people (girls) who I've know who thought Alaska was by Hawaii because if the US map cut outs.

Made another post, but not sure where it went?

Either way it basically summarized this article!

    https://www.theguardian.com/sport/20...flat-earth-nba

Let an athlete say something ridiculous and people question his intelligence, and wonder if he is stupid, let a politician do it and he ends up becoming President, something might be wrong with this situation, or maybe it is just me!

Watching a couple videos over the weekend, it was pretty clear Irving was trying to make some sort of point. What that point actually was I had no ******* clue, but this makes sense. Though I'd argue that this flat earth stunt and the fake news phenomenon aren't necessarily a perfect comparison.

The dumbing down of America has been happening for quite a while in this age of reality TV. I think it is complete now. Many people blur the lines of reality and fiction just as many people believe anything they read on the internet. Welcome to the false information age. On most topics it's probably harmless, on other issues, not so much.

The dumbing down is done by design if you know what I mean.
