There's a lot of stupid in that blog.

Again, Andre has his problems but saying he's a liability is absurd.

It's en vogue to poke fun at him for his FTs and his lack of blocked shots. It's also completely ignorant of all the things he does really well.

Dude is averaging 15, 14 a block and nearly 2 steals. I think he's doing alright
Not saying he is not doing well but his numbers were expected to increase not decrease.

Wouldn't count the Pacers out in any Reggie Jackson talk, I know he and PG are the best of friends...he's a terrible fit with this roster though, can't play him next to Teague.
"It's just unfortunate that we've been penalized so much this year and nothing has happened to the Pistons, the Palace or the city of Detroit," he said. "It's almost like it's always our fault. The league knows it. They should be ashamed of themselves to let the security be as lax as it is around here."

He's also a 23 year old big on a team devoid of playmaking

Orlando really dodged the bullet yesterday.

Getting TRoss + Toronto's 1st rounder is agreeable return for Dipo + a pick which became Sabonis Jr. TRoss fills a need too...

Toronto lost this trade big-time, but may end up as a winner this season. They BADLY needed a starting PF while TRoss was totally redundant... Norman Powell can slide to those minutes with no harm done. So - while Ibaka is old and becomes UFA on summer - this was something they needed to do in effort to win. TRoss for PF was an obvious move months ago.

P.S. They say Gallinari is on the block as Nuggets are unwilling to pay next summer. Thad Young for Gallo???
We win in talent, but get probably even worse "fit" as Gallo would be horrible rebounder for small-ball stretch 4.
Gallinari ( on paper ) is a much better Starting Stretch 4 than Thad is.....but the guy is PERPETUALLY injured. He's misses about 1/3 of his games each season. On paper, I like him as a Stretch 4.....but the guy is injury prone. I'd pass on that reason alone.

I am fine with having him as a 1st Forward off the bench getting 28 mpg.....but not as a relied up on as a key Starter.

    Too much for Gibson.

The same deal the Raptors gave the Orlando Magic for Ibaka — swingman Terrence Ross and a first-round pick (the lesser of the Raptors’ own pick and a pick the Clippers have to convey from a previous deal) — the Bulls had been discussed for Gibson last season, sources tell CSNChicago.com.
The exact parameters of such a deal this season*were vague but the Bulls were discussing a deal involving Gibson for a first-round pick with the Raptors. However, league sources tell CSNChicago.com that Ross wasn’t involved in these discussions.

I get why Teams are asking for a 1st round pick for their Players.....but short of getting a game changing Player, I have no idea why teams would give up a 1st round pick for a UFA that could bolt in 4 months.

Taj Gibson IMHO totally fits for the type of Player I want to complement Myles in the Starting lineup. But he's not worth a 1st round pick.

No team should be that desperate for a Big Man like Gibson. He's good....but he's not that good. At most, a 2nd + Expiring. The guy is a UFA that will get more than what the Bulls are willing to pay him ( which means that he's not likely to be in a Bulls uniform 4 months from now ).

I wouldn't give up a first for Taj, but he certainly fills a need. Would be better next to Al Jeff than Seraphin and Lavoy. Really those 2 are centers.

    Nobody.

I rather have Thad than Gibson anyways, Gibson haven't been good for a while now plus his game doesn't fit the new NBA, decent backup PF but that's it.

He's also about 200% better than Stuckey.
But the idea proposed was not Stuckey for Gallo, which I'd entertain. It was Thad Young for Gallo, which is only going to make our 4 position worse (even though increasing our outside shooting deficiency) due to his injury status and the fact that he would be an even worse rebounder and defender at the spot than Thad.

If possible (it's not) I'd move Jefferson. At least if the goal is to create a more balanced team

JMHO, but I think that Bird is stubborn or patient enough to see how far the AlJeff train will take us.

Al's contract is cheap these days and he can still score. Surely he's not too much a negative?

Yep, no 1st for Gibson. He'll be solid, but not spectacular. Agree with AlJeff if they'd bite. Otherwise, 2nd plus filler.

I want to like Al. He can put up points. But he's such a drain in absolutely every other way. Everyone else has to be perfect. I don't know.

Al is good for a few buckets in the first half, but that seems to go away in the second half of most games.

His lack of defense, rebounding and overall activity seems to hurt more than his offense seems to help IMO.

I know he's a bench piece, but at 10mil you want a guy who can play more than 15mpg (his current average)

Al is fine if you bring him off the bench with an athletic 4. In this scenario, the 4 man would be the shot blocker / rim protector. On the offensive end, Al would get the ball if the 4 in question is not a shooter or scorer. Someone like Harzell from Houston for example.

It's difficult to pair AlJeff with a Player on either end of the floor.

If you have an atheltic 4 that can protect the Rim and Block shots....that means that the 4 will be staying close to the basket next to AlJeff since AlJeff shouldn't be wandering too far from the paint on the defensive end. As a result, there will only be 3 defenders on the perimeter with AlJeff and this athletic 4 that is protecting the paint.

On the offensive end, this athletic 4 would have to be one that can score from outside of the paint since AlJeff is pretty useless outside of the immediate low post.

That's the problem with AlJeff, you have to either build around him on one end of the floor and minimize the damage that his limitations causes on the other end of the floor. There is no perfect Player that can cover up AlJeff's limiations on both ends of the floor.

Not sure if it's the right solution....but if you can find a Stretch 4 that can score outside of the paint that is also a good perimeter defender that doesn't allow for dribble penetration ( basically allow his man to get to the paint and take advantage of AlJeff's slowness ), that would be the optimal Player to complement AlJeff on both ends of the floor.

Al needs a really crazy, rangey athlete next to him to survive I think. Or someone who can really space the floor. Seraphin and Lavoy don't give you that. Tough to find lineups Al fits in.
