Not really. Neither of those players are taking us anywhere.

Pacers need a lot but rebounding should be the top concern here. We don't even give ourselves a chance to win by being bottom 3 in rebounds

Peter V. does not have any insider info about the Pacers. He has no knowledge of the current CBA. He is as relevant to sports journalism as Larry Bird is to what is trending in basketball.
Isn't the word out there that he's supposedly tight with Donnie Walsh or something?

I'd deal a protected first for Gallo. But then again we need him more

A 1st round pick is not taking anybody anywhere, if Denver offers either one of those guys for a pick you accept the deal 100 times out of 100.

CP3 to get 200+ million dollars to stay LOL

The same is basically true of Chris Paul. Heíll opt out of his final $24.26 million and ink a new deal with the Clippers for north of $200 million. While Knicks fan often dream of a Carmelo Anthony-Paul tandem, itís not going to happen. Sources close to the process said that itís already been verbally agreed to and itís simply a function of the calendar and the new Collective Bargaining Agreement kicking in. Ė via Basketball

I probably would for Chandler, but not Gallo. His health kind of scares me and isn't he a FA after this year?

First round picks are valuable. Strong draft this year, so a pick in the late teens/early 20s is probably better than 8-15 last year.

If Larry is aiming this low then Paul just needs to request a trade now.
There are no stars available that we can get without trading part of our core or a butt load of draft picks. We can live with our starting 5 for now. We can work on improving it during the summer.

We need a bench immediately. Dudley, Booker or Thomas would fill the need of a backup stretch 4. That frees up Miles to play his natural position of 2 or 3. Dudley and Thomas are both good 3 point shooters that will help stretch the floor. And I am assuming that we would move Stuckey, Ellis or Jefferson to get them...which would also be a help to us.

Yeah I don't care about draft picks unless they are top 10 (maybe top 15)

I also don't think PG is going to wait for another young player to develop so one day the Pacers could compete for a title.

I'd move a first for Chandler in a heartbeat because he will still be under contract through next season.

Gallo will be a FA this summer. Trading a first round pick for a 25 game rental is illogical unless he is the guy that will get you a championship...Gallo won't do that for us.

I've been turning my brain to think of wing players or strong rebounders that I'd give up a 1st for and I'm just coming up short. The NBA's talent base right now seems kind of top heavy where as the middle class kinda seems lame. Gallo or Chandler for a 1st? I mean they're OK players, but they don't get me amped. Neither one is even as good as Thad for example.

If Charlotte is selling on Batum, you could send them Stuckey, Monta, and a lotto protected 1st. But then you're strapping yourself into the Teague, Batum, PG, Thad, Myles lineup for next year too because Batum has the 5 year max!

Fournier is mildly interesting, but again, woof his contract and defensively...I'm not sure it's there.

Are the Pistons willing to punt on KCP? I actually think a change of scenery could be good for him.

Anyway point is, there's drawbacks everywhere. Even the better mid tier guys come with gigantic salaries. If you made a deal for Batum, yeah you're picking up a 15, 7, 6 guy but then you realize he's 28 and has 4 more years on his deal after this at over 20 million per.

I'd personally drive KCP to the airport. Let some other NBA team pay him a massive extension for below average play.

SVG seems to love him for his defense, but I can't stand him when we have the ball. He's Tony Allen if he thought he was Ray Allen.

I totally agree about Lance Thomas as a Buy Low target that is locked into a great contract. If Lance Thomas was available, I'd start him ahead of CJ or whoever we have. He's a decent 3D wing. I'd even send out CJ+2nd for Lance Thomas if that was the price.

I agree with you on this......the question is what Player that we go after when giving up a 1st. As cdash suggests......a 1st round pick is valuable and IMHO not something we should give up unless we get back a solid Starter or better type Player that ACTUALLY fits this team. I don't mind giving up the 1st as long as we get back someone that will definitely help us.

Gallo to me is the best you are going to get if that is his price, you bring Gallo here and he is automatically the Pacers 3rd best player in my book (PG 1st, Teague 2nd).

Move PG to small guard and the starting unit could be Teague,PG,Gallo,Thad,Turner, that looks pretty good to me.

I guess Okafor wouldn't be a bad option after the Brook Lopez rumors

Indiana seems to be one of the more active teams right now as they try to get Paul George some help. One name Jeff Goodman, Chris Haynes and I have all heard they're pursuing: Jahlil Okafor.

Gallo is bad at P&R defense and commits a number of careless turnovers. He would fit right in.
