This doesn't help dispel the argument that Indiana is fairweathered...

Course its quite possible not everyone in Indiana is a Colts fan I figured Rodgers would sell more around here than Brady.
There have always (well, I guess I should say since about 2004) been an absurd number of Pats fans in Indiana. I just figured they adopted them as their team out of disdain for the Colts. I know a lot of Bears fans who root for them as their second team, which likely explains Illinois.

I wonder if it's because of Larry Bird. People rooted for the Celtics because of Bird, and Indianapolis didn't have a team, so they started rooting for the Patriots as well.

    Or maybe that's just a hare-brained theory.

The Colts have been in Indiana since 1984 they weren't really noticed by most people in this state until Manning came along(Harbaugh had that one season though). I grew up in Bears country and hated the Bears, didn't like the Packers either(that's the two choices we had back then you rarely if at all heard of the Indianapolis Colts growing up). Then there are the 49ers fans who supported the team because Joe went to Notre Dame(I was one of those fans but the team was fun to watch I did grow to like Steve Young too)

There are a lot of Steelers fans in this state too.

On PatsFootballTalk, they're pointing out that Lynch stood for the national anthem in Seattle, and are pointing to a tape of it as if it's the Zapruder Film.

Are we going to have to put up with this crap again in 2017?

There might be a few genuine Pats fans in Indiana, but I think most of these people are just contrarians who never got into the Colts, so they like rooting for the Pats just to stand out and get under people's skin. There are always those types of people.

I don't buy the Larry Bird theory. Remember, even people in Boston barely knew the Pats existed until Parcells came along. Their attendance and support was downright pathetic and embarrassing until then (Boston is an overrated market for fan support, it's easy to root for teams when they all win titles). If people in Boston barely knew of the Pats in the 80's, then I have a hard time believing people in Indiana did.

It's mostly just a case of people enjoying being different by antagonizing the Colts fans.

I don't think it will get nearly as bad a reaction because we already went through this with Kaepernick and other players besides him kneeled so its old hat now.

Besides its the Raiders they have always been outsiders in the NFL.

Doesn't matter. He is a good football player so he will be picked up. Kaepernick sucks and that is why he hasn't been signed

Yup. This isn't hard to understand.

(Although I think saying Kaepernick "sucks" is a little harsh.)

Teddy Bridgewater is the Inspiration for a Real New Children's Book Named "Little Bear Teddy"

Teddy Bridgewater, who is coming back from his horrific knee injury that caused him to miss all of last year with the Minnesota Vikings, is making his appearance in a new children’s book series. That book series, “Little Bear Teddy,” is written by Erika Cardona. Cardona in the past has been described as Bridgewater’s girlfriend, and in the bio on the book website, it says that she “decided to write these stories based on her best friend’s dream.”

You can even get an autographed copy of the book signed by Teddy Bridgewater.

In a case of life imitating daytime talk radio, Bridgewater now has a children’s book named after him, as envisioned by Dan LeBatard over a year ago. Of course, it’s not entitled “Teddy Bridgewater,” as far as we know does not involve a stuffed animal saving a town from a flood, and does not include a pig best friend named Kevin Pittsnogle.

I'm pretty skeptical of online personas on Twitter sure she could be his wife(or ex wife) but I would think this would be something she would I don't know talk with him in private instead of social media.

The political stuff in the sports media is just making the NFL brutal to follow aside from the actual games themselves.

Ravens signed C Jeremy Zuttah and waived/injured WR Kenny Bell.

Do they honestly feel good about going into the regular season with whatever current sub-standard options behind Kelly? I mean I suppose whatever is available out there now is rather meh. But what we have for C now is at least as meh? Don't know about that. What was the projection on Kelly? 4 to 6 weeks? Maybe we should read in to it that they are willing to wait around on it because Luck's return will be no earlier than Kelly's.

The way the NFL is covered in general is grating. I liked the more laid-back banter that is generally used by NBA analysts. These NFL guys worship football to the point where they just come off as goofy, self-important blowhards.

Agreed, I don't really enjoy following either league much nowadays. The NFL and the media that cover it, as you mention, has an obnoxious overwhelming sense of self-importance. It's littered by a bunch of smug entitled people who try to shove their alienating political agendas down everyone's throat. Meanwhile, the NBA is just complete and utter crap from a quality standpoint compared to what it used to be. I never would have dreamed that the league could be this bad. The 2017 playoffs were some of the worst garbage in modern pro sports history.

The enjoyment of gameday is going to take a hit as well unless they cut down on the ungodly amount of penalties called each game
