Favre suffered a concussion that caused him to blank out for several seconds on his last play, which has pushed him to enter into the fight against concussions.
Prevasol is a nasal spray designed to reduce the effect concussions have on those who suffer them. The drug is just set to enter the first phase of clinical studies, meaning it could be years away from hitting the market, assuming it even does what the makers say it will do.
If it works, though, it could create a fundamental change to the NFL landscape, one struggling to keep up with the concussion issue. In some way, they wouldn't have to anymore because they would have a legitimate way of fighting them.
Time will tell if Favre is on the right side of a history-making drug.
