Pat talked in his podcast today about how colts want to get younger/cheaper, and how Matt will probably land another gig, so doubt it was performance related. And Pat hasn't been shy about lobbing special teams criticism since retirement that's for sure.

Hennessy is expected to make the team as the long snapper.

Here's a brief look at each UDFA from Mike Chappell. The Colts have had an undrafted free agent on the opening day roster for 17 consecutive years.

I doubt Chuck thinks that at all. Irsay has lowered those unrealistic expectations he had of the Colts a ton by saying this is a rebuilding year.

This is interesting. The Colts added a personnel strategist. Something the Patriots and Seahawks apparently already have. A personnel strategist tries to predict whether or not prospective players have the right stuff to succeed in the NFL. The ESPN article is a long read. Sounds like he's trying to develop the science rather than just apply it. He and Chudzinski know each other from the Browns. Decker's time with the Browns was short and the management was unstable so I don't think his methods can be fairly judged by their poor drafting.

The ESPN article was a really interesting read. I just found it on bleacher report and came here to post it, lol. Pretty exciting stuff, I think.

The front office revamp leaves me to believe that the coaching staff will be axed by the end of the season. Ballard will want his own guys in.

Barring a deep playoff run I think we all know Pagano won't be back next season.

What a ****ing idiot. Stephen A's reasoning behind Peyton not deserving a statue is absurd.

Why do people get worked up over anything these debate shows have to say most of them tend to be scripted anyways one side takes one position the other side takes the other. Its "entertainment" not much else.

I don't care either way if he gets a statue or not but I'm not against it either considering the Colts wouldn't be here in Indy without him.

Luck has been taking some heat over the last few weeks for some reason. I've seen a couple articles and sound bites from pundits who are saying Luck is middle of the pack; no more excuses for Luck, etc...

They mostly cite his interceptions as the reason. Bruschi laid him out today saying a guy like him should not be intercepted this often. He actually implied that Luck isn't smart, by saying he's not making smart decisions. He also said that you can't always blame the o line.

No, you can't, but you also can't ignore it. At any rate, Luck had 13 INTs, in 350 attempts. Since when is 13 INTs in 350 attempts considered a major problem? Would it be nice to have 0 INTs? Sure. But that's not how it works.

I think anyone with a brain who knows Luck's situation would realize he had a very good last year, and that's without factoring in a number of challenges he had to face. Shoulder that needed surgery. An improving, but still not good O-ilne. Receivers who don't get separation. A new offensive system. A bad defense that forced Luck to gamble more often just to stay in the game.

Did he had a perfect season? No. But it was pretty damn good. At least top 10 last year. 4300 yards, 31 TDs, 13 INTs, 96 rating, 7th in QBR? That is not "middle of the pack". That's a damned good season.

And with more time in the offensive system, a better o-line this year, a repaired shoulder, there's no reason to believe he couldn't take it further this next season.
There are two types of quarterbacks in the league: Those whom over time, the league figures out ... and those who figure out the league.

He's one of the biggest mediots out there. He still has a chubby against the Colts from his playing days. Just another guy that babbles on simply hoping to get attention, site clicks, retweets, whatever ......... Just like all the other mediots. I'm not sure there are ANY that speak truthfully. All they care about is the attention and social media 'status'.

I've noticed that hate that Luck has been getting. Let them talk. Those of us who watch Luck on a regular basis know the truth of how this organization had been run over the past few years. Once Ballard gets this roster under better control (I still think it'll take another year), we're going to be in great shape.
Don't ask Marvin Harrison what he did during the bye week. "Batman never told where the Bat Cave is," he explained.

I don't think the criticism Luck has received has been that bad really I don't agree with those who think he's a bust because that's just not true but beyond that a lot of what has been said has been valid considering many already had him set for the HOF before he even played.

But really people shouldn't take the media that seriously they build you up only to tear you down the next day.
