When job #1 is the protect #12, and you consistently don't get that done then it's not hard to believe you've been fired nor that you never developed much stock with the players.
Nuntius was right for a while. I was wrong for a while. But ultimately I was right and Frank Vogel has been let go.

Dakich took a shot at McAfee on Twitter over his Grigson comments. Leave it to one arrogant douche to defend another.

Irsay said he expects Pagano to do his best coaching job next season. So that means, what...12-4 and a Super Bowl appearance? Or at least a competitive AFCCG.

I think if Irsay gets a GM not named Jimmy Raye Pagano will be gone as well. At this point nothing is set in stone.

But if Pagano stays if we had that season I'd be happy with it considering with what this team is made of at the moment.

    Inform me. Please.
There are plenty of people out there with more football knowledge than this entire forum that say Manning is ready to step into the job.

Belichick is a douche and people don't like him but he wins.
People that play for him admire the d-nozz.

Admire that he's good? Yes but like him personally? Not really.

    That was my point.

True but this whole drama has me fascinated with how social media can craft a story. Just a few days ago it seemed like Irsay would never fire Grigson and now here we are.

Makes one wonder if Irsay was leaking these false stories to certain social media members to see who may be a leak.

I doubt it. More likely nobody knows **** and they're just making assumptions.
Don't ask Marvin Harrison what he did during the bye week. "Batman never told where the Bat Cave is," he explained.

    Also a more accurate description....

But journalistic integrity has all but disappeared.

Okay. So who do you all want as the GM?

Chris Ballard is my top choice.

I would be okay with Jimmy Raye.

Some are, some aren't. Irsay has talked to Manning and Gruden and has talked to them about their ideas for the franchise.

The timing is pretty bad, but every day it was getting worse. We need time to establish a new team before the draft.

It's sad that Andrew Luck's shoulder surgery may have been the straw. It shouldn't have come to that and the move to fire Grigson should've happened much, much sooner.

I know what he said, but I 100% expect a big splash move. And part of me wonders if we're a lot closer in our search than was being led on.

I also wonder (hope more than wonder, really) if the firing was done now because a certain candidate wouldn't discuss the job unless it was open.

Last season they got a pass because Luck was out, the years before that they made the playoffs not this season though regardless Irsay is a flip flopper so I wouldn't take what he says now as gospel it could change a moment's notice.

Even before last season, it was clear that our big $100 million asset was Luck and we did nothing to protect him.

Could you imagine giving someone a job to keep a Brinks truck safe with $100 million in it, and people are opening the doors and cracking the windshield and ****? And then the Brinks truck owner is like "how about a 4-year contract extension"? Are you kidding me?

I think it's obvious Raye is the guy getting the job. I doubt Irsay would have committed to Pagano for the 2017 season if he wasnt.

    You're probably right.

He's probably better than Grigson though.

Dakich is nothing more than the local Skip Bayless. He makes idiotic statements and reponds to replies to them with juvenile retorts. Bob Knight taught him well.

I also find it humorous that a two-time failed college coach would have the gall to make fun of the profession of a professional pro-bowler. Especially since Dakich knows even less about football than he does basketball.

At one time, I enjoyed his show. Not anymore. It seems like he keeps getting worse and worse, to the point I can't even stand listening at all now.

Considering Raye was Grigson's right hand man I wouldn't be so sure.

We'll find out if it passes.

This reminds me of Larry Bird last season after he fired Vogel and that coaching search ended up being his assistant Nate McMillan...

Well this is interesting... I really think Irsay did not want to fire Grigson but felt he had no choice if any of this is true.
