    Default 2016-17 NFL Playoffs Thread

Hmm...turns out there should have been a facemask penalty on that insane catch earlier that would have voided the TD.

I swear, Seattle gets more breaks than any other team in the NFL.

Seattle gets away with murder at home I notice but the Lions aren't good either so its a wash. I do think the Falcons can beat the Seahawks though.

Some of this Lions playcalling is giving me bad Colts flashbacks of that infamous Colts/Jets postseason game.
Absolute worst and most inexcusable loss in Colts recent playoff history.

It was but honestly it might've been a good thing because those Jets went into Foxboro and upset them. I don't think the Colts could've done that but I think that year we might've ended up playing with the Steelers?!

I think it sucked that it turned out to be Manning's last game here but I guess it was rather fitting.

The AFC Playoffs are rather pointless I don't see any of these teams beating the Patriots (I would love to be wrong)

I'm not sure any team has ever had an easier road to the Super Bowl. It's a joke.

I think following a Super Bowl championship with two straight playoff losses to the freaking Chargers (no one else in the AFC ever struggled with those fools in the playoffs) was more inexcusable.

That 2010 Jets game was certainly poorly managed at the end, but that Colts team really wasn't that great while the Jets were in the midst of a dominant defensive run. They cleaned the Pats' clock the following week.

Houston-NE will just be downright pitiful.

I think Pitt could make NE sweat a bit because they can put up points in a cold environment. KC wouldn't have a prayer against NE because there's no way they'd score enough points there.

Jordy Nelson has been knocked out of the game with a rib injury.

Giants are going to regret not putting up TDs on at least three legit drives in the 1st half. As good as their D is, not going to hold GB down the entire game.

GB with the hail mary TD to end the half. Wow.

I agree and a lot of those passes the WR's shouldn't have dropped them.

Well this was a boring weekend. The Giants had a better shot of beating the Cowboys but I think it might be too much to ask a team to beat the same one 3 times the same season. However the postseason and regular season are both very different.
I just trust the Giants more to get past the Patriots compared to the rest of the NFC. That and I don't like the Packers or Aaron Rodgers.

Justin Bieber probably will be banned from anything Giants related after this game.

Man, the Giants got demolished in the second half. There hasn't been a close game yet in these playoffs.

Not sure next week will be that much better. Although Seattle/ATL and Chiefs/Steelers might.

I do think the Packers can destroy the Cowboys they have a great offense but that defense will be their undoing and Rodgers has the playoff experience to handle going there and winning as opposed to Dak.

Giants were proven to be a bunch of posers.

No, they were exactly what they showed in the regular season.

Eli was down right magical right?

If you took Eli's playoff stats and compared it to all his regular season years, it would only be around his 5th best year. The Giants playoff record would be their 4th best if compared to regular seasons.

My point is that playoff Eli is very likely not a real thing. He and the Giants have been a little better in the playoffs than expected, but nothing that is outside of normal variation. The main thing that is different about them is that they happened to sandwich all of it into two years, but that's going to happen every once in awhile. Joe Flacco has basically done the same thing the last 10 years, it's just that his good games happen to be a little more spread out.

Whomever wins this game, I'd like to see go to the SB.

I'd really like to see Russell get SB number two

Would've already had it had they run the ball from the 1 yd line....

That being said I'm rooting for the Falcons because Freeney and Tamme are on the team and it would be nice to see Matt Ryan silence his critics.

(that being said they aren't going to win it all)

He would have beaten Manning and Brady in the SB. Would have been quite the way to start a career for sure.

Wilson is on his way to being a modern version of Brady 2.0. That win would have sped up the process

Not really sure about that a lot of things have to happen to make it possible. Brady is fortunate the AFC wasn't that competitive for him. Compared to the NFC which is more of a gauntlet to get through.

Anyone really doubt NE is going to the SB?

Can't say that about any team in the NFC.
