    Default 2016-17 NFL Playoffs Thread

I'll start things off with some predictions:

    AFC:
    #3 Pittsburgh vs. #6 Miami > Steelers
    #4 Houston vs. #5 Oakland > Texans

#1 New England vs. #4 Houston > Patriots
#2 Kansas City vs. #3 Pittsburgh > Steelers

#1 New England vs. #3 Pittsburgh > Patriots

    NFC:
    #3 Seattle vs. #6 Detroit > Seahawks
#4 Green Bay vs. #5 New York> Giants

#1 Dallas vs. #5 New York > Giants
    #2 Atlanta vs. #3 Seattle > Seahawks

#3 Seattle vs. #5 New York > Giants

    SUPER BOWL:
New England vs. New York > Patriots

The NFC is stacked. I could see any one of four teams come out of the conference. And New York/Green Bay is crazy for a Wild Card match-up.

I could see any team outside of Detroit come out of the NFC.

I can only see KC or Pitt defeating the Pats.

Atlanta vs Pittsburgh SB. Matty Ice finally gets over the hump.

Shade, your NFC seeding is wrong. The wildcard match-ups are NYG@GB and Detroit@Seattle.

NYG-GB is obviously fascinating for many reasons. I heard on Mike and Mike that it's the first time two Super Bowl MVP QB's have squared off in a Wild Card game. Furthermore, the G-Men won in Lambeau during both of their recent Super Bowl runs. In 07 they won the NFCCG game in what turned out to be Favre's last game as a Packer. Then in 2012 they beat the 15-1 Pack in the Divisional. Packers fans no doubt will have all of that torment fresh in their mind. It won't surprise me at all to see Eli look like a Peyton/Brady/Montana/Elway hybrid once again. That's just what he does in the playoffs after routinely struggling in the regular season.

I think you forgot that division winners get the top 4 seeds in the NFL. It's actually the #5 Giants traveling to #4 Green Bay for the wild card game and #6 Detroit going to #3 Seattle. The AFC ended up being about the same because you had Houston winning round one, but it's #5 Oakland going to #4 Houston, and #6 Miami going to #3 Pittsburgh.

Eli's "Ho-hum, oh well" personality seems to help him and his team in the playoffs. He plays those games in the same manner as week 4 of the preseason.

Such a fascinating conundrum, considering that he's been an above average, yet below elite QB throughout a lot of his regular season career.

After the Super Bowl in Indy, I really thought Eli was on his way to cementing himself as one of the game's elite. They started out 6-2 and he was playing like the MVP. Then they collapsed and missed the playoffs. The following years were complete disasters for the team, even with the emergence of Beckham, until they finally had a quality season this year.

The league knows it. They should be ashamed of themselves to let the security be as lax as it is around here."

Texans 7/4 to beat the Raiders?

Even without Carr I'd expect them to win.

The Texans are still the Texans.

I have a feeling this is going to be a terrible game. Defences cancelling out each other's mediocre offense.

Texans are +4. If Texans win by 3 it will be some BS.

Oakland is blitzing on almost every defensive play. It's like watching a video game.

They're not winning it. If they had Gronk then yea. Won't be Cowboys either. Don't see a rookie a qb winning it all. I like Falcons and Steelers
