Question Getting Wiggins from the T'Wolves

So the T'Wolves seem like they won't make the playoffs this season again. Wiggins would be a good fit on our team but the Wolves won't give him up for nothing. So do you guys think we could pry Wiggins from Minnesota if we offered up Al Jefferson + Stuckey + 2018 1st round pick... and agreed to take Pekovic's contract back to our team along with Andrew? Pek's deal would slide off the books in the Summer of 2018.

First time in a long time, I've been happy with the team that was constructed, and now they struggle. I blame the coach.

There is no way we could get Wiggins for anything else than PG13. We might be able to get some minor additional assets on top of Wiggins for PG, but not much.

While PG13 > Wiggins, you have to figure in following facts :

This season PG makes 18,3 mil, Wiggins 6 mil
Next season PG will make 19,5 mil, Wiggins 7,6 mil

On summer 2018 PG will be an UFA who shall command a max contract of 30 % from the cap (estimated 26-27 mil)
On summer 2018 Wiggins will be a RFA who shall command a max contract of 25 % from the cap (estimated around 22 mil)

In the BEST scenario where a team (whether it is Indiana, Wolves or someone else) manages to sign PG13 as an UFA on summer 2018, he will command a total of some 42 million more bucks over next 6 seasons (current + five) over Wiggins. That is a big difference in ability to pay for the next player...

In the WORST scenario, you will end up comparing 2 seasons of PG13 against 6 guaranteed years of Wiggins.

So, I think there is a solid argument to be made that Wiggins is actually more valuable contract (different from more valuable player) to have right now than PG13.

Your idea was absurd. Trade value of Jefferson and Stuckey is net-negative.

C.J.Miles + multiple 1st-rounders (at least two picks : 2018, 2020) might be something Wolves would consider. Add a 3rd (2022) and they would probably accept.

P.S. Shedding Pek's contract is probably not that important for Wolves. They don't have a single important player to extend next summer nor are they a player in high-end of free agency. Besides their salary situation for next year is 15 mil below cap (more than 30 mil below tax line), so they don't really have any need for getting rid of Pekovic. No use for that money.

But... but... my personal God, the ESPN trade machine, told me it was a successful trade...
