Mad Ants playing now on NBATV, our second showcase game. They didn't start Xmas or Joe Young. Thumbs up for that decision after thursdays debacle. But it's still not their normal starting lineup since they started Adam Woodbury at center. So far they're playing well.
Thanks, Is the offense and defense for the Mad Ants mirrored to the Pacers offense and defense?

Christmas and Young really didn't play.
Larry Bird qouted March 25th. 2015:

Bird: I wanted to keep our group together because in the summer, if David and Roy opt out, we're back to zero, really. We don't have that much, so you leave your options open. If we did make a trade, I didn't want to take on a lot of contracts -- because that's what usually happens. Plus, I liked my guys. They're playing well. If we keep the core together and Paul comes back healthy, we'll be right back to where we were.

Christmas having 3 fouls in 3 minutes isn't good to see. And the +/- with Young and Ben on the court is nasty.

Unless a trade is coming, I think it's time to cut ties with Christmas and try Alex on a couple 10 days and see what he can do before some other team does.

Christmas completely overcame his foul trouble as the season progressed last year, he developed. IMO he's earned an opportunity. I have no idea why he hasn't played this year but you certainly can't evaluate him from 3 minutes. I couldn't disagree with you more.

This is a little surprising. I figured Watford was on the team to draw fans. I'm guessing Uthoff is more of a traditional center, that's what the Mad Ants needed. Huh, seems like he's listed as a power forward. 19 of 40 on 3s, 47.5%. Guess he's yet another stretch 4.

Jarrod Uthoff might have a future as a stretch four. Today he had 15 points, 6 rebounds and 6 blocks for the Mad Ants. Hit all three of his 3 point attempts. Also 2 assists and 3 steals. He seems to be a high energy player and a good help side defender. He's shooting 52.3% (23 of 44) from 3. Seems a lot "longer" than Niang.

Here's a video of his 6 blocks in tonights game.

Uthoff is a better player than Niang, but he has a very poor attitude. I'm hoping the draft stomped his ego a little. As a second round talent he was telling certain teams not to draft him as he wasn't interested in playing for them. Unless his attitude as changed, I'd pass on a 12th or 13th man with an attitude.

All star game is on NBATV right now. Looks like they're doing the 3-point contest after the first quarter. That's interesting, mixing it all together. I just turned it on in time to see the last few minutes of the 1st quarter. Alex Poythress is the only player that hasn't played yet for either team.

    Here's the box.

edit: it looks like they're playing 2 halfs instead of 4 quarters. so the 3-point and dunk contests are at half time.

The Mad Ants lost Julyan Stone to Europe. I really enjoyed watching him play. I could definitely see him as the Pacers 3rd point guard next season.

Julyan Stone, who had been the unquestioned leader of the Mad Ants, has left the team to play for Reyer Venezia in Venice, Italy.

While the Mad Ants have already brought back Chris Fowler, who had been in training camp with the team, general manager Brian Levy is working the phones looking for a replacement as his team (20-15) chases a playoff berth.
    ...
Stone left open the possibility that he will be back to try out for the Pacers next season and, therefore, could return to the Mad Ants.

“I will be back in Indiana training and doing all that's necessary to ensure that I am in a Pacer uniform next fall. Thank you fans,” Stone said.

Hansbrough will never be worth the first round pick we spent on him, but like other recent signings like Derrick Williams and Lance Stephenson, he's good enough to be a backup in this league.

I am a Tar Heel fan and Hansbrough is one of my all time favorite Tar Heels, but even I didn't want to draft him. I really wanted Jrue Holiday or Ty Lawson.

...and yes. The Pacers could certainly use his toughness in the lineup right now. Though, I wanna keep the Christmas experience alive while he is playing well.

+1. Paima suggested letting Teague walk this summer in favor of Holiday. Interesting idea, yet my emotional reaction was, "How ironic: Let go of the player Larry traded for in favor of the guy he should've drafted years ago? Yeah, I don't see that happening!"

I completely forgot all about Tyler Hansbourgh. Good to see him back with the organization in some capacity. D-League is fun if you're bored at home on the couch as they broadcast games on FB live. I've watched a few of them actually.
    Impossible is nothing.

Losing Stone and Bentil was a big blow (plus you can say Christmas). Picking up Hans and Teague is a good way to soften that blow. Once Alex is back, that's a pretty solid team. Would be nice if the Pacers would send Niang down to finish the season

Well Bentil could fall back into the pool after his stint with Dallas. He's only there on a 10 day.
