    Andre Johnson retires

Andre Johnson, the seven-time Pro Bowl wide receiver who ranks in the Top 10 in NFL history in career receptions and receiving yards, has decided to call it a career.

Johnson is retiring today, the Titans have announced.

Although Johnson has played in all eight games for the Titans this year, he has been phased out of the offense and hasnít caught a pass in the last three weeks. At age 35, he doesnít have much left.

At his best, however, Johnson was among the NFLís top receivers. He gained more than 1,500 receiving yards in three different seasons with the Texans despite often playing in otherwise subpar passing offenses.

Houston chose Johnson out of Miami with the third overall pick in the 2003 NFL draft. He spent 12 seasons with the Texans before signing with the Colts last year and the Titans this year.

Johnson will be a candidate for the Pro Football Hall of Fameís class of 2022.

Sucks but it happens to the best. Reggie was done by 35 although injuries helped. Wish last season would have worked out for him, seemed like a good dude

Had a game winning TD reception this year for the Titans didn't he? He didn't go out completely sucking

The guy had an insane career without ever having a good or even average qb really. I guess Schaub was decent for a bit, but Johnson, often the only weapon they had when it comes to receivers and still just dominated. One of the most underrated WR's ever

It's amazing how quick the falloff is for a WR.
Nuntius was right for a while. I was wrong for a while. But ultimately I was right and Frank Vogel has been let go.

That's true which makes Jerry Rice's career rather amazing and Larry Fitzgerald at the moment.
