O’Neal Misses Shootaround but Expected to Play

    By Conrad Brunner | May 5, 2005
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Pacers forward Jermaine O'Neal missed the team's shootaround this morning with a stomach ailment but is expected to be in the lineup for Game 6 of the first-round NBA Playoff series against Boston tonight at 6:00 in Conseco Fieldhouse.

"He was a little under the weather with a stomach problem and today he's at the doctor getting checked out to make sure it's nothing serious," said Coach Rick Carlisle. "He's expected to be here tonight. He's expected to play. It shouldn't be anything significant, we hope."

O'Neal has been playing with pain in his right shoulder, the residue of a sprain suffered in early March. He has averaged 13.8 points, 7.4 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 2.20 blocked shots while shooting 35.2 percent from the field in the series.

hopefully nothing that bad...last thing we need right now is a sick/injured JO

I think I've become desensitized to stuff like this. Someone getting hurt every 2 games is just too normal nowadays
Don't ask Marvin Harrison what he did during the bye week. "Batman never told where the Bat Cave is," he explained.

I hope he's feeling okay by game time.

    Is there one Sunday again?

The Family Guy might be the best show on TV. I'm glad Fox had the nut-sack to bring it back....with new episodes.

I can hear Jay now... Next year we'll refer to this as "FluGate."
Welcome to Pacers Digest! New around here? Here are three tips for making the forum a great place to talk about Pacers basketball.

    • Log in. Even if you want to read instead of post, it's helpful because it lets you:
    • Change your signature options. You can hide all signatures by choosing "Settings" (top right) then "General Settings" (middle left) and unchecking the box "Show Signatures" (in the "Thread Display Options" area).
    • Create an ignore list. I know it may seem unneighborly. But you're here to talk about the Pacers, not argue with someone who's just looking for an argument. Most of the regular users on here make use (at least occasionally) of the "Ignore" feature. Just go to "Settings" -> "Edit Ignore List" and add the names.

    Enjoy your time at PD!

He's just playing hard trying to win the PD funniest poster award. After the awards are given out and he has his new contract, he'll return to his old lazy, non funny form. And then we'll desparately try to unload him for anyone that can fog a mirror and a cheese sandwich for the next 8 years.

But no one will take him because his pinky will get broken and won't be able to post for a while. Which will take his posting value down considerably and we'll be forced to read horrible posts for a while.

And when we think he's getting better....his whole hand will get broken from making a PB & J.

    Who cares?

If Billy Keller once played a game wearing a "Depends", then so can Jermaine.

As long as he doesn't resort to taking 15 foot fadeaway jumpshots all game, then he'll be good to go.

great avatar Mush! I was at that game 13th row! Dale has a very scary look in his eye, like he really was gonna strangle him to death, yikes! All the negative Ron hype has made everyone forget these moments.

Yeah, I know. But let the Celtics know that and I'll bet they keep their butts our of thier offensive paint. At least while JO is there, anyway.

    Free Btown.

EDIT - And I forgot this note for Anthem:
Why do the things that we treasure most, slip away in time
Till to the music we grow deaf, to God's beauty blind
Why do the things that connect us slowly pull us apart?
Till we fall away in our own darkness, a stranger to our own hearts
And life itself, rushing over me
Life itself, the wind in black elms,
Life itself in your heart and in your eyes, I can't make it without you

Now that's what I call offensive paint.
